The journey of faith begins when the individual is given an idea that some better outcome exists. It continues through the successive attainment of increasingly better outcomes.
No matter where one’s faith begins, all paths will converge on Jesus Christ. When correct ideas about the Lord are obtained and followed, they will lead the individual to learn and experience things they would otherwise not be willing to endure. The pinnacle lesson in this path is to acquire charity.
As the individual seeks God with all their might, mind, and strength, they will find themselves facing and overcoming monumental trials. As they do, they will see how nothing can stop God’s love for them, and this will give them the strength to show God’s love to others through all barriers:
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:39)
In this way, they will come to endure all things, and obtain all that God gives:
19 And now, my beloved brethren, after ye have gotten into this strait and narrow path, I would ask if all is done? Behold, I say unto you, Nay; for ye have not come thus far save it were by the word of Christ with unshaken faith in him, relying wholly upon the merits of him who is mighty to save.
20 Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life. (2 Nephi 31)
All people who continue in the journey of faith will find it culminates in the singular experience of knowing Jesus Christ, becoming like him, and dwelling with him:
And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. (John 17:3)
I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee. (Job 42:5)
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son, Jesus Christ; that ye may become the sons of God; that when he shall appear we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is; that we may have this hope; that we may be purified even as he is pure. Amen. (Moroni 7:48)
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. (1 John 3:2)
Seek God with all your heart, might, mind, and strength. Continuously emulate what you learn about him in your life. Press forward, growing in your faith and in your love of God and your fellowmen, and you will find joy beyond all comparison.
