Sin consists in actions that deviate from the most beneficial path.1 Sin causes guilt. While this guilt can be ignored or covered in this life, it is constant, permanent, and plain after this life.2
As with all other gifts from God, forgiveness of past sins comes through faith in Jesus Christ.
