If you believed that God did not give much revelation, would you ask for it? If you believed that God limited what kind of revelation you could receive, would you believe revelations not fitting that description? Would you pray about doctrine if you didn’t think God allowed you to do so? Would you expect God to give you revelations about your day-to-day life if you did not believe such was necessary? Would you trust in what God says to you in revelation, even if it disagrees with something you've heard before? Would you believe God’s word to you, even if it is hard to hear and causes negative feelings?

I hope it is abundantly clear that the false traditions regarding revelation embraced in modern Mormonism will prevent an individual from hearing God’s voice and returning to his presence. Well did Jesus say about those who taught such damning doctrine in his day:

Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered. (Luke 11:52.)
