So we live in a world that keeps getting more and more complex and what we face among other things are consequences that far exceed the expectation. Now, they exceed the expectation both in frequency and intensity. And so we see example, after example of this and my hope in detailing some of these is
at least twofold. On the one hand, I'd like to specifically warn people who are in the situations that I'm talking about. And on the other, I want to arm you with a greater capability of noticing and anticipating these types of patterns because they will advance both in frequency and magnitude as time
goes on. So today's example comes from the state of Maryland. Uh I was, I was born and raised in Maryland. And so I, I pay a little more attention to the state than I think most people who, who weren't. Would I still have some family members there? And I'm very glad that I moved away when I did. So it's
no surprise that a headline from July 13th 2024 describes increasing problems with the electrical supply in Maryland. Now, why is it no surprise what? It's no surprise to me because I've been watching the headlines every once in a while saying things at which I've shared with you about plans to shutter
current coal powered electric power plants without any plan for replacing their capacity. Now, this pattern not having specifically to do with electricity or coal or, or any of that, but this pattern of taking away something that works while or, or before having something better to replace it. This is
not a new thing. This is something that we are extensively warned about. Uh I'm looking it up now, but there's a scripture in Isaiah. The King James reads, the bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones, the sycamores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars and different people
have shared different interpretations of this verse. But I want to draw attention to a perspective that you may not have thought about before, which is in this verse. They don't have the things that they're planning on replacing the old things with. They're speculating about something they might have
in the future that they hope is better. Now, here's another verse that we can intertwine into this. Tomorrow will be like today only far better. That's also in Isaiah. It's this attitude of assuming that things in the future will be better than they are in the present, even if we have no details on why
to expect that. Now, human nature and the universe in general tends towards entropy, it tends towards decay. That's the natural state. If you're going to escape that, it's going to take something more, something better, something external, something from above. So these themes weave all through the scriptures
. So when we see people echoing these lies, these, these pernicious patterns of let's let's find fault with things that we have that work even before we have something better, even before we've proven that that something better is even possible. This is a tactic of the adversary. So when we see Maryland
saying, hey, or people in Maryland activists in Maryland saying, hey, we have these coal fired power plants that produce a substantial amount of our state's electricity. Let's start closing them and maybe one day we'll replace them with alternative fuels. This should raise the hackles of every person
that has at least a little sense. And what is the only sensible thing to do to get the heck out of Maryland? That's the only sensible reaction. Now, do you need to flee with the speed? You would if you were in a burning building? No, no, that wouldn't be sensible. But you should absolutely make every
reasonable move to get out of there as soon as you can as soon as you can with measured loss, right? So trying to mitigate what it's going to cost you. But having a, a timeline in mind to say, yeah, you don't have to leave today. You don't have to leave tomorrow, but you should really be out of there
six months from now. And I think you'd be hard pressed to make a case for longer than that. Unless you've got some enormous payout coming at eight months. Like you've been selling your business and you're already in due diligence, you've got an offer and so you can pretty well guarantee it'll be less
than a year and if you leave before that you're gonna lose everything. Well, ok, fine. Right before a normal person in any kind of normal situation, it's time to put your house on the market, you know, take the time to paint, fix up the carpet, whatever you gotta do, but get the heck out of there, start
looking for another job. Sell your house, get out of there. Why? The article talks about it currently today, Maryland consumes 40% more electricity than it generates. Ok. No big deal. We're all friends. Right. Maryland can just buy its electricity from elsewhere. Well, if you know people who live there
, you know that their electric bills have skyrocketed in the last few years and Maryland is not the kind of place you wanna live without air conditioning. It's, it's really humid, it gets really hot in the summer, it gets cold given the humidity in the winter and people don't really have wood stoves
. And so it's an expensive place to live now, their politics and taxes and not prosecuting people that are shoplifting and the cops in Baltimore haven't responded to, um, to emergency calls for thugs doing things since the, the riots they had there. I don't remember when that was 2014 or something. Ever
since then the cops just won't come. You, somebody could be stealing your car. They won't come. Right. They could be robbing you. They won't come. And so the writing's been on the wall for quite some time. But if you needed a linchpin here you have it. This should be the straw that broke the camel's
back for any camel with any common sense, you really need to get out of there because that 40% it, it, it's not just about what your electric bill is today, it's about what it's going to be in the future and how you will be entrapped and your options will be far more limited in terms of your ability
to sell your house. And the hustle with which you need to leave later now is the time there is no general excuse for delaying it any longer. You might have specific circumstances, but it's doubtful. So I said how in Isaiah, you have this, this um warning not to be the kind of person that says tomorrow
will be just like today only better. We'll hear some data from this same article. Uh, his, it's going to get worse. That's a long story short and we already know it. You don't have to be a clairvoyant to see it. The companies who run the coal power plants have publicly stated they're shutting them down
. Uh, I don't remember exactly how many are left. I think there are four. But let's read this coal fired generating plants had historically supplied more than half the state's power. But coal share has been below 50% since 2012 and was about 12% in 2022. So they import 40% of the electricity and hilariously
, 22% of that is from coal power plants in other states. So that's just yet another example of smoke and mirrors stupidity. But they say of the remaining power plants, the two largest ones will be shut down by 2025. The smallest one will be shut down later this year. So we're told right here, electric
prices will absolutely go up, can't predict exactly by how much. But like, like it says, if, if already 40% is imported and what was it? 12% is still coming from coal within the state that 12% is gonna be gone by 2025 and one of them will be gone this year. So do you wanna keep paying more and more for
your power bill? And for most normal people, it, it can be as high as 700 bucks a month right now, it's gonna get worse, but it gets even worse than that. Ok. They're building data centers. They're, they're, they're a lot of businesses. Are using A I and those use much more power hungry chips. So demand
is gonna continue to increase. Plus there are tons of illegal immigrants flooding into Maryland. What do you think is gonna happen? They all are gonna have power use. So demands going through the roof and it gets even worse than that. It's, that's still not as bad as it is. It, it actually is. It doesn't
paint the picture bad enough and, and why, what's the, what's the next thing that we need to talk about? Well, um, like I said, there's no plan to put any new power plants online. And to me this is the kicker, the state has already notified that they intend to ration electricity. Ok. Now, if you're a
normal person, that sounds as crazy as it gets as unlikely as it gets. But that's just because you're not informed if you want to see where this is going. You need to look at South Africa. South Africa used to be the most prosperous country in the continent of Africa and there are a lot of countries
there and it was by a long shot. The, the runner up wasn't even close. And what happened there. Well, they put inept people in charge of the utilities and the government and fast forward a few years, they have not had reliable power for years and their economy has tanked. How do you run a grocery store
when you don't have reliable power, let alone a white collar office. So every company there has a generator. Now they use massive amounts of, of fuel to run those generators. Of course, generators need maintenance. They break all the time. Every hour you use is one less hour. You'll get out of it. It's
much better to have a big um high capacity electric grid. That's, that's a specialization that yields massive savings when you break it down to the local level where every store has to handle that, it costs a fortune. And so all the prices go up, it really hurts things. So if that sounds good to you
, then go ahead and continue to live in Maryland. But if you have any sense at all, you need to move and the best time move was yesterday. But the next best time is today. So get your ducks in line and get the heck out of there. This isn't the full story. Things in Maryland are even worse than that.
