Day of five. I'm gonna start with uh an idea here. Uh If you have never been in a certain room and all you have seen um of this room is a, is a photograph of it, single photograph, then you will have a clear idea of some of the things in the room. But depending on how complicated the furniture and layout
of the room is, you may uh lack sufficient information to have a better clearer idea. You cer certainly wouldn't be able to reproduce the room. Um But maybe you'd recognize it if you found yourself inside of it, let's say you had two photographs of the same room from different angles. You'd expect that
you would, um you'd have a clearer idea of what's going on in that room and you'd be more equipped to reproduce the room. But again, it's, it's unlikely you'd be able to do so if, if anything complicated was going on in that room. But as you get more and more photographs, you would approach the reality
of the room closer and closer and that's how it is with end time prophecy. And so what we're gonna do today is just look at one chapter in Isaiah chapter five. And I will make a case for certain things uh mostly just limited to the chapter itself as a source. Um But I'm not doing this in an attempt to
explain everything. Um the scriptures are before you and you should search them yourself. A surprising percentage of scripture is dedicated to describing events that have not yet occurred. And um some of the things that are mentioned here have many more resources that describe them within other chapters
of scripture and other parts of what we will um build on here are not mentioned here. And so I, I do not want you to take my word for anything that I say here. I would like you to go and investigate it yourself. But I'm hoping that by giving you a single snapshot, you'll have a better idea and um maybe
begin or continue a journey towards realizing these things for yourself. And so I encourage you to seek the Lord. He has promised plainly that he will reveal anything we ask so long as we pay the price associated with knowing it. So let's hop into this. So uh first one now, while I sing to my well beloved
, a song of my beloved, touching his vineyard, my well beloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill and he fenced it and gathered out the stones thereof and planted it with the choices vine and built a tower in the midst of it and also made a wine press there in and he looked that it should bring
forth grapes and it brought forth wild grapes. And now all inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah judge, I pray you betwixt me and my vineyard. What could I, what could have been done more to my vineyard that I have not done in it? Wherefore when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought
it forth wild grapes. OK. So we have this parable of the vineyard and uh right off the bat, we have this verse 30 inhabitants of Jerusalem. Now, this chapter does not describe Israel. It describes the United States and that's one of the things that I am not going to take the time to make the case for
here. Um So if you don't believe that that's fine, I encourage you to suspend your disbelief of that just for a moment so we can talk about this and maybe that's a question that you can go and figure out for yourself. Uh I need to make this video as short as I can. So, um I will say one of the challenges
of understanding uh end time prophecy is looking back in past prophecy and being able to distinguish uh what the target is. And also whether it was fulfilled anciently, whether it will be fulfilled in the future, or whether there is some sort of dual prophecy going on but for the sake of time, uh, I'm
not gonna make that case right now, but we have this parable of, uh, this, this vineyard and, uh, for the sake of brevity as well, I'm going to, um, go through that as quickly as possible and skip over an awful lot. But as you're reading things like this, you should stop and ask and say, what does it
mean that there is a fence? What does it mean that the stones were taken out? What could a stone mean? What do stones do in a vineyard? What is like that in the real world? And outside of the analogy that would fit and uh go through each one of these things in that manner for the sake of our discussion
today, I'm just going to highlight that vines produce fruit that, that fruit can be good or bad and that grapes are used to produce wine. And uh it even says that there was a wine press here. Um But you should go and figure out what stones are, what vines are, what the tower is, et cetera. OK. Um All
right, verse three, uh judge, I pray you betwixt me and my vineyard. This is a phrase that's employed uh several times in scripture. And it's, it's sort of an ancient way of um inviting justice. So justice is distributing what is deserved. That's what it means. So it's one of those words that doesn't
mean the same thing today. But if you want to understand what uh God or his servants meant when they employed it in scripture, that's, you've, you've got to adopt the old definition. OK. So basically the Lord speaking here and he said I set this whole thing up and uh consider whether I've done everything
I could or not for this. Now, boy, that's, that's a topic we could talk about for a long time and uh to keep it brief, I'll just say that that's, that's what it means to be ripe in iniquity is that the Lord has done everything he can. And that's not sort of uh when we, when we say that phrase, we tend
to mean we're sick of this and we don't feel like doing anything else. Um I just can't take it anymore or something like that. That's not what the Lord means. What he means is that he is he has limited tools that uh fit within the space of what would be righteous. Um So those constrain how he can interact
with us. Um So once he has exhausted those means, there really isn't anything else he can do except unleash the consequences of our choices upon us. And he does that uh by measure. And so it, it starts off less intense than it ends. But remember this whole life, the, the purpose is I should say the creation
uh as it progresses, basically, what we get is a greater and greater measure of things as they really are universally speaking. And so even the earth itself is subjected to uh things as they really are. And uh for those uh people that don't rise up and obtain and live the principles and obtain the character
of Christ, then, uh they aren't prepared to stand in that day and that's all very literal. Um, ok, so let's just sorry, that's a side note. It's a, it's a very important thing, but let's keep rolling here. Um OK, so now he goes into what these consequences are. Um, of first verse four when I looked that
it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes. And so he's saying, you know, I set up this vineyard perfectly so it could generate exactly what I wanted to come out of it instead of that getting these wild grapes. And again, uh I don't want to spend too much time on the whole vineyard analogy
. But the, the idea is that um these grapes are, are essentially, they're, they're us, but they're the quality of us. So, what are we becoming people like Christ? Is this vineyard this country? Is it producing people like Christ? Because that's the purpose. And the answer is no, the grapes are wild,
the fruit is bad. It's bitter to use phrases from other chapters in scripture. Um And, and like I said, so, so all of these themes they echo through, it's like that picture of the room. You're gonna see an armchair and you're gonna see that same exact armchair described in a lot of other places. And
this is one of the keys for decoding end time prophecy. Um, it takes a lot of work and, uh, it takes a lot of, um, inspiration and so it's, it's impossible to do if you haven't repented of your sins, you absolutely need the Holy Ghost. But let's continue. So, verse five, he starts to lay out what the
consequences are. I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard. I will take away the hedge thereof and it shall be eaten up and break down the wall thereof and it shall be trodden down. So this vineyard, he set up a hedge uh and a wall and these things are meant to protect the, the vineyard, the, the
vines and uh ensure the, the continued production of the fruit. But as a consequence of not producing the correct fruit, these protections are taken away and not only are they taken away, but um it shall be trodden down and continue in verse six and I will lay it waste. It shall not be pruned nor digged
, but there shall come up, briars and thorns. So let's pause there and, and now we will dive a little into details. So, um in times past this vineyard has been pruned and digged. So, um it's, it's been fertilized and uh the parts of it that would tend towards bad outcomes have been removed and it has
not had briars and thorns. And so both the plant, the plants themselves, the vines have been pruned and the ground has been tended both in terms of nutrients. That's what digging means that you dig and you put fertilizer in there. And also in terms of removing briars and thorns. So what are briars and
thorns? There are things that make it harder for these vines to produce the right to, to thrive and produce the right fruit. Um in the in, in the application of, of this uh this analogy that the country itself um has received tremendous support uh in the term in, in terms of things that, that foster
thriving growth and also good fruit. And also briars and thorns have been removed from time to time. These are ideal ideologies that would or ideas that would come in and uh strangle the fruit, prevent good fruit from growing and prevent the vine from thriving and ideas always lead to actions. And so
both of these things jointly are removed from time to time. And the Lord saying here, I'm not gonna do that anymore. I'm going to uh tear down the wall, have the hedge eaten up. And I'm going to let the briars and torrents grow. I'm going to stop pruning the vine. I'm going to stop putting fertilizer
in and, and I'm just gonna let this thing go. Um He says, I will also command the clouds that they rain, no rain upon it. Well, obviously, grapevines need water. But uh this is the first allusion to something that will actually happen literally, which is, I mean, uh the briars and the thorns and the
no and the, and the no pruning and no digging. Those have literal connections as well. But this, this one doesn't need to be interpreted. The, the rain is a literal thing. It, there will be a drought in the United States. We'll continue on and I'll show you some, some other evidence of that. But again
, I'm limiting it. I'm, I'm limiting it to this chapter. I'm not trying to make some vast uh explanation of everything that's going to happen here. Um Verse seven for the vineyard of the Lord of Hosts is the House of Israel and the men of Judah's pleasant plant. And he looked for judgment, but behold
oppression for righteousness, but behold a cry. So uh part of the good fruit would have been judgment but instead of judgment or, or justice or the um ensuring that justice prevails what you have is oppression and instead of righteousness or um treating things as God would. There's a cry. So what does
that mean? Well, it means the people who are doing the right thing are reacting and, and uh invoking the Lord because they're not being treated the way they should be verse eight, woe unto them that join house to house that lay field to field till there be no place that they may be placed alone in the
midst of the earth. In mine ears said the Lord of host of a truth. Many houses shall be desolate even great and fair without inhabitant. There is a very interesting pairing of verses because um joining house to house that uh there be no place that they may be placed alone in the midst of the earth. It's
very interesting the end of that so that they can be by themselves and yet you're not by yourself when there's house to house. Um This has been playing out for some time. It's accelerating right. At this moment, there's a mass exodus from cities, very large cities into the suburbs and into the countryside
. Uh You can Google this uh U haul just uh posted yesterday, some, some uh statistics of 2020 where people are going and what you'll find is that uh the net loss of people is greatest in California. And uh as you go down the list that it's all the huge metropoli politan areas that um people are fleeing
from and they're going into places like Idaho and uh the Dakotas uh Texas numerically is a, is a much greater destination. But the thing is is you have to look at what the beginning population of these areas is. And there are many places across the United States right now that experienced uh double digit
percentage growth in population in 2020 because so many people are moving in and that is an extreme change that will cause extreme change. So coming back to these thorns and briars, they're not just ideologies, they're the people that hold those ideologies and historically in the history of the US. Uh
for a long time now ideologies have been clustered geographically and that's no longer the case and it will uh accelerate that, that the breaking of that trend will accelerate until people are all mixed up in their ideologies. Which means that there really isn't any place you can go to be freed from
that if that's what you're seeking to do anyway, in the cause of this exodus, what you're seeing is a massive expansion of home building and the like their, their housing shortages, you can imagine if uh if the population grows by 20% in a year in a rural area or semi rural area, how are they going to
build sufficient homes to fit these people? So the property values go through the roof and there is no supply and uh we'll see what that leads to later here. But uh the point is that this, this is already happening and it will get worse. So that's contrasted with this interesting thing that many houses
shall be desolate even great and fair without inhabitant, there are certainly a lot of homes that are great and fair and it says that something is going to happen that will cause these houses to be without inhabitant. Now, houses uh can also mean families or groups of people and uh desolation. Well,
that's, that's a whole another topic. So we'll, we'll stay off of that and just focus here in verse 10, we have another consequence. 10 acres of vineyard shall yield one bath and the seed of an homer shall yield an IA these are Hebrew measurements for produce. Um But the point is that the farms will
produce far less output. This is a consequence. So um that's not saying that farmland will be converted to houses, although that is certainly happening. It says that the farms themselves will not produce nearly as much if you look up these measurements. Well, vineyards, um the volume of wine that comes
out of a vineyard, which is what a bath is that obviously that's not used for seed, but um for grain crops, if this measurement happens, what it means is you get less seed out of your crop than it took you to plant it. And that is um very bad, right? Because it means that you end up with less than you
started with and people are going to starve verse 11 woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow. Strong drink that continue until night to wine and flame them. And the harp and the vial and the tablet and pipe and wine are in their feast. But they regard, not the work of the
Lord, neither consider the operation of his hands. What is this all about? Well, this is wine of delusion. So here wine is not a liquid but uh like alcohol, it um it's something that uh warps your mind. It's, it's ideologies that lead to harmful outcomes. Um This is in other places we um we see the phrase
the drunkards of Ephraim. It's the same idea. These are ideologies that, that are harmful. They're ideas that are harmful practices that harm and um like getting drunk. Um and, and, and it's not just the, the depth of this experience, but also the duration of it. This is describing people that wake up
. The first thing they do is get drunk and they stay that way the entire day and they have these, these feasts and it's, it's just this nonstop um insanity where they are beyond reason and uh doing exactly what stone drunk people who, who are drunk from the moment they get up till when they go to bed
would do. And um they regard not the work of the Lord, neither consider the operation of his hands. They're completely detached from the wisdom of God and they have no respect for it and they act in the opposite ways of it. So what are the consequences of this? My people are gone into captivity because
they have no knowledge and their honorable men are famished and their multitude dried up. With thirst. So the people are gone into captivity. Uh This is slightly out of chronological order, but it describes a consequence that happens later. Um But the reason is they have no knowledge, everything operates
according to cause and effect. And sometimes that doesn't happen immediately so that there's place for faith to occur. But it always happens. Uh Their honorable men are famished and their multitude dried up with thirst. Um This is this, you could look at this several ways but honorable men, uh the noble
and great ones amongst us are famished. Uh They are the ones that suffer the most in unrighteous circumstances because not only are they most qualified for the rewards of righteousness. And so when they go without them, it's the greatest loss. Uh but also they derive their joy from helping others and
in an unjust society that is extremely constrained. Uh You, you just don't have the opportunities to do that, that you would. Uh just one very specific example, let's say you're highly successful in monetary terms. Um How can you give your surplus to other people if the government is taxing it from you
and doesn't give you the choice? So um their multitude are dried up with thirst again, this is literal, they, there will be a lack of water, there will be a lack of rain and that is uh that seems to be here. What causes the famine, what causes the lack of production in the farms. However, and, and again
, the famish could be literal as well. So people who are righteous enough to deserve to eat do not have the food that they merit through their righteous living. But um also figuratively uh light and truth flows to the earth through people. And when uh leaders don't lead, and I wrote a chapter about that
. One of my books, there's this cascade of consequences and of course, the people who they would feed in the sense of feed my sheep uh do not have food and they suffer because of that. But also the multitudes will literally uh be thirsty verse 14. Therefore, hell hath enlarged herself and opened her
mouth without measure in their glory and their multitude and their pomp and he that rejoice, it shall descend into it. Now, I I made this analogy about a picture in a room before I just want to come back to that for a second because my, my purpose in reading all this isn't to say, uh just to say these
things will happen, they will and to say, get ready for it. And you should, my principal purpose in all of this is to give you motivation to do more than you are to establish a personal connection with God, to repent of all of your sins and to learn to trust in Him completely and to make use of the tremendous
resources you have in the form of uh more scripture than anyone has ever had access to and more time to do something about it. But, um when you see phrases like this, these writers couldn't just say, uh well, there's a lot of reasons but they couldn't just spend 50 pages laying out what hell means here
in verse 14. Um But if you do the work, you can look through this tapestry of end time's revelation and try to figure out more about what that means and why it is that it's described as, as having this large mouth and uh why people descend into it and how this has anything to do with everything else
that's in this chapter. Um But essentially, there are consequences to our ideas and actions and when we embrace harmful ideas and actions, it, it has consequences for society and for ourselves and these consequences are like chains, they're like uh ropes, they get thicker and thicker until they turn
into iron chains. And at some point, they become so thick that there's no escaping them. And that is the objective of the adversary. And it's something that's uh that's, that's encountering great success for its intent these days and it'll get worse. But the point is that people who embrace these ideas
, this is the end and this is also the path towards it. And um those people will end up trapped by their own ideas and the consequences that have to follow them. Verse 15. And the mean man shall be brought down and the mighty man shall be humbled in the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled. So this is
interesting because this is three classes of people. You have the, the poor and wretched and the mighty and the eyes of the lofty. And uh all three of them are humbled here and you could go into how and why that happens. Um But very, very briefly, the poor will suffer even more than they suffer now because
the poor are extremely reliant on systems that promote righteousness. And when you have a society that promotes evil and uh harmful ideologies, they suffer greatly. Uh mighty men are humbled in an unrighteous society amongst other things because things are so unreliable that they can't use the tools
they would to um to, to build and create good things because uh they end up just walking around with their hands on their swords in one hand, with their sword in one hand and the treasure in the other because everything's become slippery and there's great vacillation and what what's happening in the
world and, and nothing can be planned. And there's no incentive to do more than anyone else does in the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled because they will be shown with great violence that their ideas are worthless and everything they thought was wisdom and glory is nothing. Verse 16, but the Lord
of hosts shall be exalted in judgment. And God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness. This is a fantastic verse. Um what this says is that the events that will transpire will reveal the value that God has in terms of who He is, what He does and what he offers. And the way that will happen
is uh God will, will cause events to occur, that will reveal the value of these things in, in stark contrast to what we have now and righteousness is God's ways. It's, it's living according to truth. It's things as they really are and as they will be and as they always have been, and he will be sanctified
in righteousness because um His ways will be revealed to us to be of much greater value than they are right now. Uh I can't spend the time that this merits this idea. But um the, the main thrust of this is that people who think that they believe in God right now. Uh with very very few exceptions, they
don't actually believe in Him at all and they have many other things ahead of Him in their lives. And as these things unfold, that will become clear to them and the value of what he offers will become clear to them. Verse 17, then shall the lambs feed after their manner and the waste places of the fat
ones, shall strangers eat well, the, the waste places of the fat ones are all these glorious places, these buildings, these cities, these homes these opulent homes that uh people are currently inhabiting and they will be occupied and used by strangers. We'll get into that later, but this will be by uh
both foreign invaders and also uh people who are traveling around the, the geography of this country, marauding lambs feed by wandering through the wilderness. And that's what this is predicting for the uh humble followers of God 18 w unto them that draw iniquity with chords of vanity and sin as it were
with a cart rope. So this is highlighting the fact that we have a choice to forsake sin and those that opt not to do that are uh basically towing around these things because they choose not to let go and to surrender to God. Its chords of vanity is prideful presumption that uh that you're, you're worth
more than you are in and of yourself or anything really. And that there is greater worth in holding on to your sin than forsaking sin and turning to God completely verse 19 that say let him make speed and hasten his work that we may see it and let the counsel of the holy one of Israel draw nigh and come
that we may know it. So it's very interesting. So what, what this is saying is that the people that say that will be the ones that are still clinging to sin. You see um the people that say this, you have to ask why they're doing it. And pe some people say this today and the reason they're saying it is
because they want to escape affliction. And they think incorrectly that if God applied his justice, it would, uh, it would result in their, their blessing and it wouldn't, in fact, the people that say this, they're not asking for justice at all. They're asking for mercy. And they think erroneously that
, that God coming, if, if the Lord were to come again, that somehow they would be exalted just because they say that they believe in Him. And that's not true at all. And uh they're towing around their sins still and were God to settle the accounts in justice? Uh They would go straight to hell. And so
it's wise to take advantage of the time we have now and the time those who survive will have to repent of all of our sins and actually come to trust in God verse 20 woe unto them that call evil, good and good evil that put darkness for light and light, for darkness, put bitter for sweet and sweet, for
bitter. Well, unto them that are wise in their own eyes and prudent in their own sight. Well unto them that are mighty to drink wine and men of strength to mingle strong drink if I touch on that one, and I'll just add that um there are people who produce this line of delusion and they are those who generate
the media that we consume the laws that are uh sometimes enforced and so on. These are the people who are pushing these ideologies in universities and in households and among friends and it, it won't be well for them when all of these things happen, verse 23 which justify the wicked for reward and take
away the righteousness of the righteous from him. Again, that's an interesting phrase. It doesn't say um so justify the wicked for reward and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him. Doesn't say it prevents the righteousness. It says it takes it away and that's very interesting. It doesn't
say it punishes the righteousness of the righteous. It takes it away. Therefore, as the fire devours the stubble and the flame consume the chaff. So their root shall be as rotten as in their blossom shall go up as dust if you ever drop a match on very dry stubble grass. Um You see that the flame, it's
surprising how fast that that flame spreads through. And same thing with chaff, which is the waste product of wheat or any grain. Um It's extremely fla flammable stuff. The root shall be as rotten as so you should ask yourself what, what is the root and why will it be consumed as quickly and suddenly
as as fire goes through chaff and stu and stubble, the blossom shall go up as dust. The blossom of a flower is uh the pretty part of the plant it's, it's the glory of the plant. And what does it mean to go up as dust and, and as suddenly as fire burns stubble and chaff this is, this is discussed throughout
latter day prophecy. So you can go look at that. It, it, it, this is an all of a sudden reference this, this phrase here, not all of these things are all of the sudden, but this is the same as saying Babylon will fall in a day. Basically, this is, there are many phrases throughout and time scripture
, but I'm probably saying too much already because they have cast away the law of the Lord of hosts and despised the word of the holy one of Israel. And that's the why and that's already happening. Therefore, is the anger of the Lord kindled against his people, who his people and he has stretched forth
his hand against them and has smitten them and the hills did tremble and their carcasses were, were torn in the midst of the streets. So their bodies are dead and they're, they're torn in the midst of the streets, the hills did tremble. That's a, that's a massive earthquake. That's what that's talking
about for all this, his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still in, in judgment. OK? This is, this phrase is repeated throughout Isaiah. Uh But this idea of, of wave after wave after wave of pouring out of God's judgment. That's, that's a theme that you can trace through and he
will lift up an ensign to the nations from far and will his un to them from the ends, from the end of the earth and behold, they will come with speed swiftly. So this ensign, that's a big topic and, and it's a collection of things that are going to happen that serve as a sign assigned to who. Well, it's
, it's uh the same collection of events that mean different things to different people. In this case, this them here is this group that's referred to next that will invade the United States so that the the famine, sorry, the the drought, the famine and the earthquake. That's the chain of events that
that serves as an ensign is a green light to this foreign entity to invade. And then it describes how that will happen. None shall be weary nor stumble among them, which is the invading army. None shall slumber nor sleep, neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed, nor the latches of their shoes
be broken. This describes a sudden deployment whose arrows are sharp and their bows bent, all their bows bent, their horses, hoofs shall be counted like flint and their wheels like a whirlwind. Um There is a shocking amount of detail provided in latter day prophecy. Um It's a prophecy about the end times
is what I mean that describes this army and exactly how they'll operate. There's a great amount of detail. If you search the the scriptures that have been given to us, their roaring shall be like a lion. They shall roar like young lions. Yeah, that they shall roar and lay hold of the prey and shall carry
it away safe. That's another reference to taking people captive. These are slaves and none shall deliver it. So when this invasion happens again, I'm not just basing all this off what we have here and you should study this out, you should search it for yourself. There are plain prophecies, there's one
here and we read one above um about slaves being taken. It's not just the United States is gonna be invaded. It's not just that it's gonna be completely destroyed uh as a government entity and that many, many, many people will die. It's also that a lot of people are gonna be taken as slaves, it's going
to happen. And in that day they shall roar against them like the roaring of the sea. And if one look unto the land, behold, darkness and sorrow and the light is darkened in the heavens thereof, there will be blackness in the sky as all of this happens, the sun will be darkened again, many reference of
that in other places. So uh reviewing what we've read here because wickedness is rewarded and righteousness is precluded through harmful ideas that are propagating in the United States and through ignorance and even hatred. It says despise of God's information, his commandments, the things he teaches
the way he teaches us to be. What will happen is that these briars and thorns will be allowed to spring up. That's already happening. It's already happened. It'll continue to happen through harmful ideologies and people who embrace them, leaders will refuse to lead. We've, we've talked about that before
. We, we, uh, we read how they'll mix strong drinks and distribute those. So, um, but also the people, briars and thorns, normal people, they'll, they'll do crazy things. This is the the violent protests, the Neighbor against Neighbor house to house um civil war houses will be desolate and empty. There
will be a drought, there will be a famine, there will be an enormous earthquake, there will be an invasion. The other thing here that I didn't write down is that the sun will be darkened. So the outcome of all of this will be that the wisdom and holiness of the Lord will be more evident than ever. And
that all those who embrace these ideologies, uh their power will be removed from them. And uh those who are righteous will be given access to greater light as well. So uh that's all I want to say about this. I hope that this inspires you to spend more time and effort studying the scriptures, but more
importantly, more important than any of that because it doesn't matter what happens if you're not prepared and you get prepared by learning to trust in God completely repenting of all of your sins. And so I encourage you to take that very seriously because the time is short, these things are already
upon us and you will see these things happen. And as they do, as each thing happens, you can expect the next thing to be just as sure because God has told us all of these things will happen. He's told us in great, great detail and you've probably ignored all of that, but it's time to start paying attention
because the consequences will mount up and one day it will be too late to do anything about it. And you'll find yourself in these situations and you'll know you'll be, it'll be bad enough to be in the situations physically. But you'll know spiritually that you wasted magnificent opportunities to repent
