0:00:00 - 0:00:23Part two of a two part series. And I highly encourage you to watch the first one, which is on the topic of speaking up. We're gonna jump right into the second part which is on shutting up. Here's DNC 6364 chopped up a little bit that which cometh from above is sacred and must be spoken with care and
0:00:23 - 0:00:51by constraint of the spirit without this, there remain eth condemnation. So right from the outset, guess what? It's a big deal, it's a big deal to say what you know and feel and have experienced without care without thinking about the reasoning and being wise about it. I'll just say because I'm not sure
0:00:51 - 0:01:11we address this directly constrain of the spirit does not mean only say it. If you feel really good, it means use your wisdom and understanding to think about cause and effect and to pray on top of all of that and just make sure you know what you're doing. Ok. So what harm is there in speaking when told
0:01:11 - 0:01:32to shut up? Um And again, in case you didn't follow my directions of watching the first video, specifically what we're talking about is it will be apparent. Here is we talked about speaking up about the things that you've experienced with God, the things that you've been taught, the, the miracles you've
0:01:32 - 0:01:54seen and so forth by default, you should share those things. However, sometimes, uh when there is an agent involved in this, whether that agent is the holy ghost or the Lord himself or an angel or a mortal person, that agent will tell you, I'm telling you these things, but don't say this to anyone else
0:01:54 - 0:02:16yet or you're experiencing this, keep it to yourself for now. So what's what harm is there in speaking up about it after you've been told to shut up Matthew nine. And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him crying and saying, thou Son of David have mercy on us. And when he was come to
0:02:16 - 0:02:36the house, the blind men came to him and Jesus saith unto them, believe ye that I am able to do this. They said unto him, yeah, Lord then touched he their eyes saying according to your faith, be it unto you and their eyes were opened and Jesus straightly charged them saying see that no man know it. But
0:02:36 - 0:03:00they, when they were departed, spread abroad, his fame in all that country. So here's an example. See that no man know it and yet they did it anyway. But what's the harm? What's the harm? Well, here's one reason to listen when you're told to shut up. God has a plan. If someone tells you wisdom beyond
0:02:59 - 0:03:22what you knew in the name of the Lord, or if they do some miracle beyond what you could do yourself in the name of the Lord, they have given you all the evidence that you need to prove that they have a better idea of God's plan than you do. If they say shut up and you don't, you are now fighting God
0:03:22 - 0:03:46under those conditions. That's true. In John five, we're gonna start reading in verse 17, Jesus answered them. My father worketh hitherto and I work then answered Jesus and said unto them verily verily, I say unto you, the son can do nothing of himself. But what he seeth the father do for what things
0:03:46 - 0:04:09soever he doeth these also doeth the son likewise for the father, loveth the son and showe him all things that himself doeth and he will show him greater works than these that ye may marvel for as the father raises up the dead and quicke them even so the son quicken whom he will for the father judges
0:04:08 - 0:04:33, no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the son that all men should honor the son even as they honor the father. He that honore not the son, honore not the father, which hath sent him verily verily, I say unto you, he that heareth my word and believeth on him that sent me hath everlasting life
0:04:32 - 0:04:57and shall not come into condemnation but is passed from death unto life. In this passage, we have the pairing of the Lord and the father, the son and the Father. The same relationships here and the same principles apply to every single link in the chain from God to you. And so the servant of God comes
0:04:57 - 0:05:33along and does the works of God in your life, whether that's through wisdom or miracles or whatever. And they say, please don't tell anyone about this, please don't share this with others and you go and you do it anyway. What you're doing is you're coming out of that chain. So God does not work in the
0:05:33 - 0:05:56dark, right? And very, very bad things happen when we open the door to supposed servants of God going around doing and teaching things and then saying, hey, if they tell you don't tell anyone, you shouldn't tell anyone. So from the outset, I want to make super duper 150% clear. I am talking about the
0:05:56 - 0:06:21same exact things that Jesus said and did not some crazy thing about like, hey, let's go rob a bank and don't tell anybody or um you know, some crazy pernicious thing that we're gonna do and don't tell anybody. I'm talking about things that are abundantly obvious to be good and you, you see them as such
0:06:21 - 0:06:48and from God explaining questions that whose answers you didn't know doing miracles that are good things that, that uh weren't done before but are obviously the will of the Lord, all of these things. OK. Just to be 100 and 50% clear on that. So what reason could God possibly have for wanting you to stay
0:06:47 - 0:07:14quiet about good things that he says? And does one reason is to avoid idolatry? This is really important. So this is the answer to the question. Why did Jesus tell the lepers to go straight to the priest and uh offer the gift required by the law of Moses and to keep it to themselves. In Matthew eight
0:07:13 - 0:07:33, we read and behold, there came a leper and worshiped him saying, Lord, if thou wilt thou canst make me clean. And Jesus put forth his hand and touched him saying I will be thou clean and immediately his leprosy was cleansed and Jesus saith unto him. See thou tell no man but go thy way, show thyself
0:07:32 - 0:07:55to the priest and offer the gift that Moses commanded for a testimony unto them. OK. So there's, there are layers of reasons here. But when he says, go straight to the priest, that was the commandment, that was the law under which they were living. And God's miracles don't fight against God. They go
0:07:55 - 0:08:16with the flow, not the flow of men or the flow of apostate churches because Jesus certainly ruffled the feathers of the Pharisees, right? But in this case, this was the legitimate law that Moses had received from God and what Jesus did operated inside of that, not against it. It was bigger than that
0:08:16 - 0:08:38. But I'm saying it didn't oppose it. That was what they were working under and he went with it. So he said, look, I'm gonna heal you, which the law can't do and then you need to go do what the law says about this. It says when you're healed, this is what you do. Now that the leper had gone to tell people
0:08:37 - 0:09:00you can't do two things at the same time. And maybe the focus of all this would have shifted quite a bit. Maybe the focus would have become Jesus. And you'd say, well, that's not so bad. It's Jesus. Yes. But what if, what if these people didn't yet understand who he was? This is, this is a huge block
0:09:00 - 0:09:25we have, when we read the New Testament, we assumed that the whole issue was, is Jesus Jesus or not, they didn't understand what Jesus was going to be. You can get a lot more out of the New Testament, understanding that to him, he was to him, to them. I'm sorry to them. He was a holy man. They were evaluating
0:09:25 - 0:09:47him as if any other holy man were to come along. And the way you can do this is think about how you would see a man who said and did all the things that Jesus did in real time in your life. Given the fact that you know Jesus already came, right? So there's no direct conflict in saying it has to be one
0:09:46 - 0:10:04or the other because Jesus didn't walk around saying I'm the son of God, I'm the son of God. He said he, he came to show the works of the father, right? So if someone else came along and said, I've come to show the works of the father, you wouldn't be thinking is this guy the son of God, cause you believe
0:10:04 - 0:10:22he already came. And therefore, how would you interpret all the things he said and did? And that's closer to the mindset of the people at the time. They, they obviously, they didn't believe the Messiah had already come. But what I'm saying is that will help you get towards the removing these scales of
0:10:21 - 0:10:48how do you see that? So if these lepers, this, this is a story of one leper, but that, you know, there's the story of the 10 lepers too. If these lepers that Jesus healed, if they made Jesus the focus, then it would be supplanting God. Not sure if that makes sense or not. It is extraordinarily possible
0:10:48 - 0:11:20to make a servant of God the focus instead of God. And that should never ever happen. And too often like the case with these lepers, the person who experiences the miracle or the teachings or whatever, they're not in a place of spiritual maturity sufficient to avoid that problem. And so in this case
0:11:20 - 0:11:45, Jesus is very explicit to the, to the leper to, to go with the religious flow of where he was and he had injected this new thing in. But he's like, look, enjoy, enjoy your healing, but just go with the law of Moses. And it was really important that that happened. Now we don't know. Furthermore, if
0:11:45 - 0:12:04, if one of the many purposes of the Lord in this miracle was the priest that he was gonna go show himself to. Because now you have this undeniable evidence that something's going on. And if the leper is not running around shouting, Jesus healed me, Jesus healed me and he just goes to the priest and
0:12:04 - 0:12:22says, I used to be a leper and I just got healed. Maybe the priest is gonna have a much more open mind and you're by passing the prejudice. Now, if he had heard about Jesus and already had a preconceived notion, now, all of a sudden, he's got to contend with the fact that Jesus just did what he should
0:12:22 - 0:12:42do, but can't because it should be the priest healing the leper. But the, the priest knows darn well that he can't do that. And so now someone has just shown him that he has something greater than the priest, but it's something the priest ought to want and see is good. And then that's a sign that God's
0:12:41 - 0:13:14at work here, that was probably clear as mud. But here's the point God is the source. The glory is God's and all of our um efforts in this regard. The point is to increase the allegiance that people have to God to increase the similitude. They have to God. That's the point. It's any, any work by any
0:13:13 - 0:13:40of God's servants is to this end to help people have a higher value for a greater reception of God's goodness. So they will have a better idea than you. If you're the recipient of these things as to how to do that and you don't want to work against that, you should be working with that, not against it
0:13:40 - 0:14:07. Another reason a servant of God might tell you to shut up is because they know full well that with greater signs comes greater persecution and none of them fear that because they love God. And when you love God, you can't fear things like persecution. However, they have a role to perform in a mission
0:14:06 - 0:14:28to complete. And when you muck that up by blabbing your mouth, when they've told you not to, you're minimizing the good they can do by accelerating the end of their mission and maybe it's not done yet. It's like a cake. You can't just say, well, I want cake. Now, therefore, for me to take it out of the
0:14:27 - 0:14:51oven. When it just got in there, there's a process. If you reread the Gospels, you'll see that Jesus very intentionally. Well, first off, he knew very early on how this was gonna go. He knew there are many scriptures that you can cite in evidence for that as evidence for that. But he intentionally ordered
0:14:51 - 0:15:20his mission so that he saved the biggest things that were going to irritate the people the most to the end. And the reason he did that is because he had to do all the other things first. And if he had begun with the end, he wouldn't have had the opportunity. So read Matthew 16. Simon Peter answered and
0:15:20 - 0:15:47said, thou art the Christ, the son of the living God then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus, the Christ. Isn't that interesting? The apostles were told, do not tell people that I am the Christ. So what did they say instead that's important should go look at it. Now
0:15:47 - 0:16:09, after his death, it was a different story. But before his death, that wasn't what they were meant to do because it wasn't time yet. And right in the next verse, we read from that time forth, began Jesus to show unto his disciples how that he must go unto Jerusalem and suffer many things of the elders
0:16:08 - 0:16:34and chief priests and scribes and be killed and be raised again the third day. These are connected. He knew if the apostles openly preached that he was Jesus the Christ, that one, no one would believe him them and two instantly they'd activate the murderous intent of the chief priests and scribes and
0:16:34 - 0:17:02it wasn't his objective. But this also highlights why it is that there's an opportunity for this in the first place that there are things that the apostles had to know before the world knew them. And that what, what are those things? Well, that Jesus was the Christ for one is necessary at this point
0:17:02 - 0:17:31. So it's not, you know, Jesus forming some secret organization where they have a harem of teen brides or something. Ok? Another reason is I'm sorry, it's the same reason. But here's another verse about another passage is when he takes Peter James and John to the mount of transfiguration that needed
0:17:31 - 0:17:57to happen at this time in his ministry and Peter James and John needed to be there. But he says, tell the vision to no man until the son of man be risen again from the dead. And maybe this is a nice indication of whether you're in this situation or not is that there are conditions to the revelation of
0:17:57 - 0:18:28what you've experienced or heard. In other words, there's a reason not to say it right now. There's a reason. Uh Here's another one, this one's pretty long. Um But this is, this is the very sad story of the man who had the infirmity for 38 years. So that's a very important number of years. But um Jesus
0:18:27 - 0:19:09finds the guy and he heals him and then in verse, where is it. Um, yikes. Where is it? Maybe we should read it after all. Um, so the Jews respond to the, this man by and it's interesting. The Jews recognize the man and they recognize that he was afflicted before and they recognized that he had been cured
0:19:08 - 0:19:30and all of this, they, they recognize to such precision that they knew he had to have been cured that day. That's how well familiarized they were with this guy and with all of that, what is their immediate reaction to finding out he had been healed? Well, they want to know who did it because he sinned
0:19:29 - 0:19:51in healing someone on the Sabbath. That's how deeply rooted the perversion of these people was. There were that in touch with this guy's situation and that, that was their reaction not to praise God, not even to be curious who had the power to do such a thing because that's something man. So in verse
0:19:51 - 0:20:1513, it says that the guy didn't know who it was for Jesus had conveyed himself away a multitude being in that place. And then verse 14 says, afterwards, Jesus find him in the temple and said unto him, behold, thou art made whole sin no more lest a worse thing come unto thee. And this is, there's, there's
0:20:14 - 0:20:39more to the story than, than what comes from a glance because he's, he's criticizing the man. He's saying some part of this was your fault. And or indicating that he knows this guy's gonna do something bad now and he's warning him, don't do something bad. Verse 15, it says the man departed, which is
0:20:39 - 0:21:02interesting, Jesus didn't depart him. He departed Jesus and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole. Imagine that. Imagine you're laying beside a pool for 38 years and you know, he probably wasn't laying there his whole life, but he was definitely, it says he had the infirmity 38 years
0:21:02 - 0:21:20. And then this guy comes along, you don't even know who he is. And he says, hey, why are you here? Don't you wanna be healed? And the, and the guy says, well, I can't because I can't get in the water when the angel comes down to stir the pool, someone else gets in there before me. It only works on the
0:21:20 - 0:21:40first person. I'm too slow. I'm, I'm handicapped. And then the guy says, rise, take up that bed and walk and all of a sudden you're healed. And then the guy says, by the way, here's a little correction. I'm just gonna tweak you a little bit and you lose your mind. You immediately go right off to the
0:21:40 - 0:22:04Jews and say, hey, that guy you're looking for, he's right there. And it says, and therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus and sought to slay him because he had done these things on the Sabbath day. Amazing. And yet many, many people do the same thing, do this same exact thing. So when someone says, look
0:22:03 - 0:22:28shut up about it, they know the kind of persecution that's gonna come and they're trying to structure that in a way that suits the Lord's purposes. So there are many, many more examples we can go over. But this is just a, a sprinkling. Here's the takeaway when a person does the work of God in your life
0:22:27 - 0:22:52and tells you to be quiet about it. Listen, if they had sufficient power from God to do the work, assume they have sufficient wisdom from God to know better than you, that it's better to keep it to yourself for. Now know that if you decide, you know better than they do and that you're gonna run your
0:22:52 - 0:23:15mouth anyway, you're going to make their lives much harder, you're gonna make their mission much harder. You're gonna harm those that would have been helped if you listened and maybe above all, you're going to sin and you're going to cause more problems for yourself than you would otherwise have. So
0:00:00 - 0:00:23Part two of a two part series. And I highly encourage you to watch the first one, which is on the topic of speaking up. We're gonna jump right into the second part which is on shutting up. Here's DNC 6364 chopped up a little bit that which cometh from above is sacred and must be spoken with care and

So
0:45:09 - 0:00:00arm to us every single time. He shows us something of his wisdom. And his power. We have the opportunity to take up this promise and share it with others.
0:23:14 - 0:23:22, please consider shutting up if you're told to shut up.
