0:00:00 - 0:00:29In John 2115, we read. So when they had dined Jesus saith to Simon Peter Simon son of Jonas lovest thou me more than these. He sayeth unto him. Yeah, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee. He sayeth unto him. Feed my lambs who are the lambs of the Lord. This is a really important question. The Lord described
0:00:28 - 0:00:54his lambs as those who seek him. But this explanation in our mindsets which are very churchy. We tend to think of these kinds of people as churchy people as overtly religious people. And sure enough, there are amongst those crowds. Some people who qualify for this definition, but it's not the majority
0:00:54 - 0:00:00because as we read in the parable of the lost sheep, the majority of those folks are quite satisfied with the feed. They already have, they go to church every Sunday or however many Sundays they do. But in church and in the church activities and framework, they are satisfied, they find satisfaction.
0:00:00 - 0:01:40But um Jesus spoke of a hunger and a thirst after righteousness and he said the blessed ones are not satisfied, they are still hungry and thirsty. They have not yet found what they're looking for. They have a longing within them. They have unanswered needs that, that they're searching for the, the answer
0:01:40 - 0:02:02to. And so in this promise, blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness for? They shall be filled in this promise. We have a call, we have a call to find the people that have not yet found what they seek and we have a call to provide it to them. Now, how will we do that? The Lord's
0:02:02 - 0:02:32comments to Peter, his, his call to Peter, his command to Peter was to take of what he had been fed with. So when they had dined and to provide it to his lambs, so his lambs are probably not in the 99 they're probably out in other pastures. How did they get there? Well, the same way lambs get anywhere
0:02:31 - 0:02:52. They follow their, their noses, they, their heads are to the ground and they eat the, the pasture below them and they follow that, which is most appetizing and over time that can lead them away if they're not happy with what is right around them, they're going to go further and further a field. And
0:02:52 - 0:03:18so it's our charge to find these people and to feed them. So what they seek is not going to necessarily be defined in churchy terms. They're going to be grossly dissatisfied with what's offered in churches and that's part of the process is to take what we're fed with by Jesus and to repackage it into
0:03:17 - 0:03:42something that has recognizable value in the eyes of those we seek to help. Kind of like a, a mother bird goes out and finds the food for the baby bird in places that the baby bird doesn't have the capacity to go and then she chews it up because the baby bird can't handle that and she prepares it in
0:03:42 - 0:04:10just the right way so that the baby bird can receive it from her. And so it's in a different format, it's in a smaller quantity. So what does it mean to hunger and thirst after righteousness in plain terms? It's to long for what is better than what you presently have now. Hopefully, you have lived in
0:04:10 - 0:04:33such a way that you don't have to imagine what that would be like. How is this filled? It's filled by obtaining what you seek. And so if you're watching this odds are, you know, something about God, and if you know something about God in the broadest, in the broadest sense, then you have obtained something
0:04:32 - 0:04:55and in some way, you're filled, even if you still have longing for what you don't yet have. You have already received quite a bit. And so it's, it's necessary for us to go and feed his sheep, not just because someone told us to do it. Uh but more importantly because part of obtaining what you don't yet
0:04:55 - 0:05:20have includes giving what you've already received. It's critical, it's not optional. This is one reason why Jesus sent out the 12 and then sent out the 70. Those all of those people wanted more and part of his solution for them was to go out and share what they already had in Matthew nine, we read and
0:05:19 - 0:05:36Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them because they fainted and were scattered abroad as sheep
0:05:36 - 0:05:55, having no shepherd then saith he unto his disciples. The harvest truly is plenteous but the laborers are few pray ye therefore, the lord of the harvest that he will send forth laborers into his harvest. Now, all these ideas are very important, but they're phrased in such a way that you might not uh
0:05:55 - 0:06:13understand them as fully as you could. So let me try to help you here. When we read about Jesus going to all the cities and villages right away. It's obvious that he was doing everything he could. If you draw on a map where Jesus was over time during his three year ministry, you'll see that he crisscrossed
0:06:13 - 0:06:36the holy land again and again. And uh what you see from this is that he made every attempt he could given the limitations he operated under as a man uh for example, the fact that he was walking as he traveled, he did everything he could as a man to reach as many people as he could. And uh not only did
0:06:36 - 0:06:55he strive to interact with the greatest number of people. His objective was to do the greatest good he could and uh the depth to which he could provide valuable information. It it was limited by the limitations of all other people. So we read, for example, in some places he went, the people didn't have
0:06:55 - 0:07:14sufficient faith for him to do mighty miracles. So that's one idea we can pull from. This is the exhaustiveness of jesus' attempts to share these things with others. And the fact that he was operating under limitations in terms of his time and time and resources uh in and how much he could help other
0:07:14 - 0:07:33people. Those are principles that we ought to adopt to our uh adapt to ourselves and practice ourselves. Now, let's move on teaching in their synagogues and preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. Now, uh you might say to yourself, well, I don't
0:07:32 - 0:07:52know of any synagogues that will let me in. OK. And you might think to yourself that preaching the gospel of the Kingdom means to, to say explicitly churchy things or to read scripture to people or, or persuade them to join a church or to read the Bible or pray or do any of these sorts of things. And
0:07:51 - 0:08:09you might think that healing every sickness and every disease among the people is something that's out of reach to you because you don't work miracles. Let's say, well, I think you're missing the boat on that portion of this verse. If you zoom out just a little bit and you ask yourself, what's the generic
0:08:08 - 0:08:29form of, what's being said here? It's, it's not specific to synagogues. It, it certainly would include any place you can get into. So, in Jesus's time, why would he have gone to synagogues? Because that's where you would find Israelites. And those are the people he was sent to specifically who were interested
0:08:29 - 0:08:49in learning more about God. That's where they would have been found and preaching the gospel of the Kingdom. Well, that means a heck of a lot more than, than reading scripture or persuading people to join the church or um even to say they believe in God or to, to, to practice some fragment of that like
0:08:48 - 0:09:13prayer. You could do all of those things and not know God at all. It's, it's not um sufficient to do those things. That's not actually addressing what you're trying to do. And what you're trying to do is take all the value that God offers across all terms, not just the churchy ones, which is all good
0:09:12 - 0:09:37, not just churchy good. And you're trying to help people know the way to obtain more than they have and be persuaded to walk in it. It's those two things, that's what it means to preach the gospel of the Kingdom. It's to help people see that there's more out there and to know how to get it and to have
0:09:36 - 0:10:04the motive to do what it takes to get it. So you're showing them the way to improvement and as far as healing every sickness and every disease among the people. Well, that is the criteria that those people operated under that. That was this the mechanism they recognized as the evidence that something
0:10:03 - 0:10:32was from God. Now, that mechanism is as much in play today as it always was. However, modern people are not looking for that per se. There are people out there who are seeking to be healed of a sickness or deeply feel the need to be better than they are in some health aspect. So they have cancer and
0:10:32 - 0:10:58they don't want to die or you know, their child is, is very sick and they want their child to be better. However, in the broader sense, there's an almost unlimited uh set of things in which or by which people will recognize value, there's an unlimited number of tokens of value in the world and one side
0:10:58 - 0:11:24effect of the lack of religiosity in the world today, that the the sheer set of secular people is that we are less inhibited than ancient people were in the signs of value that we can provide. And so what I'm saying is you might read this and interpret it as a limit limitation on the good that you could
0:11:24 - 0:11:41do because you might say, well, I have no idea how to work miracles. Therefore, this doesn't apply to me. And I can't help people like Jesus did wrong. What I'm telling you is right now, I don't care who you are. There's a giant bucket of things that you have that are valuable that others can see the
0:11:41 - 0:12:07value of. And your job is to connect the way they see value to the value that you have been given by God so that you can impart to them a path to greater value than they have. Do you see continuing on when he saw the multitudes? So when he saw just how many people there were that could benefit from what
0:12:07 - 0:12:27he had to give. He was moved with compassion on them because they fainted and were scattered abroad as sheep having no shepherd. He was moved with compassion because he saw how great their need was in reference to what he had to give. And he knew that there was no way he could plug those two things together
0:12:27 - 0:12:55by himself. They were overcome, they'd fainted, they were, they were turning away from the potential that they had with God because they were missing the information that he could give them. But he didn't have a way to convey that information. They didn't have shepherds. He was the good shepherd, but
0:12:55 - 0:13:16there needed to be servants to help facilitate the transfer of the food. He had so to speak to the masses. And you see evidence of this again and again and again, through the gospels, we're gonna go over two examples of this. But you could look at other things like when he fed the, the crowd of thousands
0:13:15 - 0:13:38, two times, two separate occasions, he didn't just sit there and, and grab up the bread and then fling it out to the crowd himself. He used the 12 and he made them split into groups and then he blessed it. He gave it to the 12, the 12 dispersed it. So what what are needed are laborers? Because the harvest
0:13:37 - 0:13:59is plenteous in plenteous. In other words, there's plenty of food to go around. It's already here. It's already here in far greater abundance than what is used. But the laborers are few. There are very few people doing anything about it. Sadly, including almost everyone who's received some of the food
0:13:59 - 0:14:23. Luke 10 verses one and two. After these things which these things uh are the account I just read after these things, the Lord appointed other 70 also and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place whither he himself would come. Therefore said he unto them, the harvest truly is
0:14:23 - 0:14:40great but the laborers are few pray. Therefore, the Lord of the harvest that he would send forth laborers into his harvest. So he went around and crisscrossed the holy land and he did all he could. And then he sent the 12 out to do all they could. And then he sent the 70 out to do all they could. And
0:14:40 - 0:15:00what was their mission? It says right here before his face into every city and place whither he himself would come. Now before his face, that's one of these ancient phrases that doesn't make much sense in modern English. But it means to go in the direction that you are pointing. It means to adopt someone's
0:15:00 - 0:15:26purpose, to seek the face of the Lord means to attempt to better understand his purpose and to more fully live it in your life. That's what that means in ancient uh idiom, that's what that means. And he sent them everywhere, every city and place whither he himself would come. So the intent of this was
0:15:25 - 0:15:49that Jesus wanted to wanted these people to help bring the masses up to a place where he could help them more. Why? Because he had already helped them as much as they were willing to receive from him directly. No, this is all directly related to the Lord and people. The Lord was directly working with
0:15:48 - 0:16:14the 1270. However, these patterns like so much in the gospel, they echo across every permutation of um situation or uh degree of resolution. The pattern's the same way you slice it, this is what you see. I've talked a lot about this in, in terms of these ideas of Windows of truth, but I won't touch on
0:16:14 - 0:16:39that today. So what does it take to be a part of this? You might incorrectly believe some great thing. No, it's very simple. There's only two requirements, one have something of value to offer and I guarantee you you already do to have the desire to share it. Now, I hope you already have that. If you
0:16:39 - 0:17:00don't, uh this video is not directed to helping you do that, I will spend a lot more time on that and I already have, but we'll leave that as it is. If you have these two things, then everything I'm saying in this presentation applies directly to you. You can with 100% certainty, consider yourself called
0:16:59 - 0:17:25directly by God to feed his sheep. And I'm telling you all about it. So what is the process of calling? Well, it's very simple. If the qualifications would have something of value to offer, then the call comes when you're given something of value to offer someone else. And that is an apt description
0:17:24 - 0:17:51of every single day of your life, every single day of your life. God has bombarded you with things of value to offer others. And it happens across every uh every dimension of life, from your mental acuity to your physical experience, to your emotional uh capacity and experiences, to all the resources
0:17:50 - 0:18:16in your life, whether they be temporal or something else, he has bombarded you with things of value. If, if you've spent 20 years learning how to make custom cabinets, guess what? You have immense value in that regard, what the other fa uh facet of being called is that you're given the desire to share
0:18:15 - 0:18:39it. Now, how does he do that? Well, I'm not sure how to touch on that briefly in this moment. So I'll leave that for another video. But if you have that desire, then you're called to the work. I will say uh OK, I have a way of saying this briefly. The way He gives you the desire to share it is by showing
0:18:39 - 0:19:16you more of how much He loves you. That's where it comes from when God opens more of your view to how much He loves you. It, it is so intense and overwhelming that you need a place to put it because His love for you is so great that even when He shows it to you in the smallest possible slice, it will
0:19:16 - 0:19:39absolutely overflow. Anything that you're capable of feeling and containing, you cannot contain it. Therefore, as he does this and it's not a one time deal. It's not meant to be. Anyway, if you keep your gaze fixed on him figuratively speaking, and you adopt his purpose in your life as far as you understand
0:19:39 - 0:20:04it, you have to love others more than you did before. It's the only place you can put this. In other words, you're like a reservoir and no matter how great your capacity is, more water is flowing in than you have space for. So where must the water go out of the reservoir and downhill from wherever you
0:20:03 - 0:20:37are? That's where the desire comes from. So what is something of value? How do you, how do you go and find that? So something of value is a solution to a problem, an answer to a question, uh the fulfillment of a need and so on. So you can acquire these things as you seek for greater understanding in
0:20:37 - 0:21:02all things. Like I said, there are no bounds. Anything in reality is fair game. So it's all from God. This is all his creation and the more about it that you understand, the more you'll have to offer to other people. And as you accumulate this, you should, you should think about what problems are being
0:21:02 - 0:21:24solved, what questions are being answered, what needs are being fulfilled by what you're receiving by what you're finding and what you read, listen to watch experience. Now life will happen to you whether you like it or not. But there are immensely varying outcomes in life depending on how you respond
0:21:23 - 0:21:51to the opportunities put in front of you. One class of those opportunities is found in the media that we find so easily accessible to us today. So what you go and read what you listen to what you watch. That is your opportunity to accumulate a, a massive stockpile of understanding that uh you can go
0:21:51 - 0:22:14and share with other people. Now, now, very briefly, uh way too briefly, I will say this is not a question of regurgitating things because what I put here intentionally is I wrote Seek for greater understanding in all things from God, from God. It might be from God through a book written by some person
0:22:13 - 0:22:38or through a video made by some person or through text from some person or whatever the case may be, it doesn't matter, it's all fair game. But the necessary qualification is that it flows into your mind and into your heart in a way that is customized to you from God. In other words, it, it becomes dissociated
0:22:37 - 0:23:03from the source uh from the most direct recent source. It, it transcends to whatever it is that God has to teach you right now. And so that might, that might perfectly mirror the exact words or, or video or whatever the medium is that you're experiencing from another person. But most often it will deviate
0:23:03 - 0:23:25here and there or your, your, your attention will be hyper focused to one element of what is said or done or shown or experienced if it's your own experience and you need to learn to recognize his voice. But this is a topic that's pretty big. I'm just mentioning it for the sake of uh of completeness
0:23:24 - 0:23:48here. But the point of this is to pay attention to the problems, the questions, the needs that what you're experiencing and learning what it actually provides what it answers for, for those who are hungry and thirsting in those ways, right? So when you read a scripture, you should ask, what question
0:23:47 - 0:24:12does this answer? What situation in life would this help with and so on? And, and it's the same for all the different sources and media. And then your job remembering the Lord's charge to Peter and this idea of a mama bird and a baby bird. Your charge is as you find this stuff and chew it up and digest
0:24:11 - 0:24:33it yourself. You need to repackage it in ways that are more accessible to others. And so if all you're doing is taking what someone hands you and then handing it off to someone else like some sort of spiritual hot potato, you're leaving so many things on the table that you could do to help others that
0:24:33 - 0:24:57the the vast majority of the good you could do is left undone. You have to eat that potato and then find ways of using what you become as a result to repackage that potato in better ways and reach the people that cannot receive those things through being passed a potato in less figurative ways. What
0:24:57 - 0:25:23I'm saying is if you're willing to read a 500 page book and think carefully about what it says. One of the gifts that God has given you is access to all the many things that can only be learned in that way. Now, being given that gift, it's your job to use it wisely in, in what books you do spend that
0:25:22 - 0:25:50investment on. And then with all the things that you learn to emit new um new materials that are more accessible to people who are absolutely never going to read a 500 page book under the the the conditions that you did. Do you understand that? So just as Jesus lived his life for 30 years in ways that
0:25:50 - 0:26:10no other man ever had or would and through doing so learned things that he then spent three years teaching to a whole bunch of people and, and they received it, even though they were not willing to do what he had done in the 30 years, they were willing to receive the repackaging and we have to follow
0:26:10 - 0:26:31that same pattern. And then he sent the 12 out to people who had already heard about him and seen him do his miracles and whatever and they didn't care. He sent them out to reach the people that needed it, repackaged in a diluted way or in a uh zoomed in way. Those are your two options. You either you
0:26:31 - 0:26:53either zoom it out and give a lower resolution version or you chop it up and give them a tiny little chunk. Those are your options. So, um and then again, with the 70 the same thing. So you create bite size morsels to feed his sheep because they're not gonna eat the food that you ate. You have to give
0:26:53 - 0:27:21them something smaller and easier to digest. That's your job. And, and that's how, incidentally, that, that's how you lead them. Where is it? Sorry. Uh Here we go. That's how you lead them to his face, whether he himself would come. So you're taking them closer to him through making more accessible and
0:27:21 - 0:27:41more digestible, the things that you've already found and digested. OK. So again, here's John 2115 and I'm just gonna read it again and now you can see it with the eyes informed by everything we've talked about. So when they had dined Jesus sayeth to Simon, Peter. Simon son of Jonas lovest thou me more
0:27:41 - 0:28:02than these. He saith unto him. Ye Lord thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him. Feed my lambs. Now, what what were these? So this is when Jesus came to the disciples after his resurrection and they were fishing and uh they come to shore and Peter is being asked by the Lord, what do you care
0:28:02 - 0:28:27more about me or fishing? Me or the world? And he says, I care about you. I want you more than anything else. And the Lord says, if that's true, then here's how you'll receive what you seek go and share with others what I have given you, he fed him and then he said all this and then he said, go feed
0:28:27 - 0:28:53my lambs. So here is how here are the means available to you to do this. Now, absent from this is talking to people who you interact with in the real world. And that, that's an intentionally absent from this. That's not to say that all of these principles don't apply to that or that those channels are
0:28:53 - 0:29:19any less important than these. However, I'm focusing on the internet because what you'll find this is back to the lost sheep parable. What you'll find is that the people who already know you are probably already in rebellion against the light that you carry. Now, if that's not the case because you've
0:29:18 - 0:29:39kept your mouth shut. And again, I am not talking about blasting people with churchy stuff. I'm saying, giving everyone the next increment of Truth. And I made a video that was titled Something very close to that. The next Increment of Truth. And if you're already doing that in your life with all the
0:29:39 - 0:29:59people, you know, the only thing that remains to you is to find people you don't yet know. And that today involves the internet. That's the most effective way to do it. You can find people who are looking for more than what they found, who are already living according to the light that they have access
0:29:58 - 0:30:26to. And the internet is, is a wonderful place to try to do that. So the form will take the place. I'm sorry. Uh The form will be in videos, text or images, including these really nice quotes that you see these tiles. The platforms that you will put these things on are Facebook, Instagram, youtube, tiktok
0:30:25 - 0:30:48, Reddit stack exchange and anything else you can come across. If you have other ideas, please post them in the comments. Now, throwing this up here and, and this sort of applies to everything in some way it applies to everything we've talked about so far here. You have to prioritize based on what you
0:30:48 - 0:31:11don't have to wonder the same criteria the Lord uses. He never does anything unless it's of the greatest possible benefit to the whole world. You need to prioritize your actions in this and in everything else in your whole life based on impact based on impact. What does this mean? Um to go through all
0:31:11 - 0:31:26the particulars would take more time than we have here. So, but let's just throw a few specifics out there and maybe it'll help you form this up. Suppose I have a choice between something that is going to go in front of the eyes of 1000 people and something that's only going to go in front of the eyes
0:31:25 - 0:31:47of two uh a simplistic perspective would say, well, it's better to go in front of 1000 people. That's, that's a greater number of people. Therefore, it's better, not so fast, that doesn't answer the question of probable impact, just numbers. If you could take one person from 0 to 100 that's greater than
0:31:47 - 0:00:00taking 10 people from 0 to 1. Do you understand now se setting um or stepping over all the details of how you quantify benefit that the I mean, you could look into that for the rest of your life and continue to make progress and understanding. But from a qualitative perspective, better means better,
0:00:00 - 0:32:34not just a greater number of people, right? And this, like I said, it can get really deep because what if, what if uh what if you only find one person who wants to hear what you have to say? Um but downstream from them, when they go out and follow this advice that I'm giving you when they live these
0:32:34 - 0:32:55principles, these aren't my ideas, but when they le le live these principles from God, they go out and impact a million people, then all of a sudden that one person is a higher impact of of 1000 people who never do this, who never help anyone. Well, how would you know that up front? So you can see this
0:32:55 - 0:33:17gets murky pretty quickly. But the principle is very clear and you can start acting on it right away. And so you can decide between a video on Facebook and a text on Reddit or whatever based on how much impact you feel it will have and the Lord will guide you, the Lord will guide you, use your brain
0:33:17 - 0:33:44and always seek and yield to his inputs. So you, you have a choice of two basic approaches here. One is a passive approach, a passive approach. It is a most closely approximate what approximates what I'm doing. And um there are reasons for what I'm doing, but basically you just make the content and you
0:33:44 - 0:34:11post it, you're not super concerned about um doing things to increase the number of people that see it, that has benefits and that has costs. Um In my particular case, I'm doing this because the impact of the value of what I can produce in the time I'm given vastly exceeds the value I can uniquely provide
0:34:10 - 0:34:32through sharing it with other people. But that's because I'm being taught things that other people don't know and that, that have massive downstream cascading value. So that's why I focus my time on that. Uh It's, it's a very similar thing if you were to ask me why I spend the vast majority of my time
0:34:32 - 0:34:51writing new books instead of making these videos. It's for the same reason. Now, in your case, it's, it's more likely that the active approach would have a much higher impact. What's the active approach? And, and how would you tell the difference is also a good question that we may or may not get to
0:34:51 - 0:35:16the active approach is to search the web for expressions of need. So your first step is not producing content. It's searching for need. How do you search for need? Well, there's a whole bucket of keywords and places you can search for them and qualities that you could search for in people or in stuff
0:35:16 - 0:35:39that they say or post and you can learn to recognize these things. But, but again, you do not need any kind of sophistication to start out with this. You can search things like why do bad things happen to good people or these very cliche questions that that many people sincerely ask even though they're
0:35:39 - 0:36:04simple, not the people but their questions. Um you can just generically scroll through um threads on reddit. For example, reddit's got a channel for Christianity stack ex exchange has massive stockpiles of users that go on there and talk about hermeneutics, which is uh uh ideas about scripture and what
0:36:04 - 0:36:27different scriptures mean. You could just scroll through there and find something where someone asks a question, you know the answer to and you can post your answer. Now, I'm going to give you a little um tidbit here. I promise you that as you do that God is going to blast open the bandwidth with which
0:36:27 - 0:36:47he reveals new information to you whatever you think, you know right now he is going to blow it wide open as you attempt to help other people find what they're looking for. Because every time you think, you know the answer to something he's going to add to it, the, the Holy Ghost is an aggregator. You
0:36:47 - 0:37:11will receive greater revelation as you share with others what you already think, you know, and it will, it will vastly expand your relationship with God, your knowledge of Him. OK. So you can search the web for expressions of need, whatever that might be. And then you can answer. Now, there's a bifurcation
0:37:10 - 0:37:32here in your options for what you're doing and answering the first option is to answer with your own content. So for example, if you find some question, you can think, how would I answer this question and then answer it and God will lead you to all sorts of scriptures. You will, you will live the fulfillment
0:37:31 - 0:37:52of His promise to use the Holy ghost to bring to remembrance all the things he's ever taught you and you will live the fulfillment of my promise that He will aggregate to that new information. I promise that will happen. And then, and the more you do it, the more it's gonna happen and then you write
0:37:51 - 0:38:16up your response and you post it or you record a video and you post that. Now what you're gonna find, this is something that all of us who've ever been paid to teach something. We know any question that one person asks. Many other people will also have. And so as you post this you should think about
0:38:15 - 0:38:37how to get more bang for your buck. So all that labor that you're going to impart to write the, the response or to record the response or to write and record a response. If you're reading a script, whatever the case may be, it takes a lot of time, it takes a lot of heart and what you'll want to do is
0:38:36 - 0:38:57find other people that have that same need or question or whatever the case may be. And so you should definitely post this in addition to the specific place you find the need, you should post this on your own channel or website or whatever you have. And you can create all those things easily and for
0:38:57 - 0:39:20free so that other people can find you in your response to that thing and make use of what you already paid the price for and so that you can forward that same thing to others. So if you find another person who asks, why do bad things happen to good people, you don't have to spend more than five seconds
0:39:20 - 0:39:38giving them the same value as you gave the person. You spent five hours answering the question on the first time and every time you review it, maybe you'll take another 15 minutes to, to spruce it up a little and reconcile it to what God has taught you in the meantime, whether that's on that topic or
0:39:37 - 0:39:58in your capacity to teach. So you might reread something and say I can do better than that now and then you spend a minute doing that, right? So this is how this works. Your other option. I said there are two and how you answer will be with content that already exists. This is wonderful for everyone
0:39:58 - 0:40:14who's just a little overwhelmed at the idea of having to write or record anything you don't have to. So everything I'm saying in this, in this video, you have a full fan of options and it goes all the way from something you could do today with almost no thought or effort, all the way up to something
0:40:14 - 0:40:34you can consume the rest of your life on and still not finish. You have everything in between those two things. I'm putting it before you right now and you can start and should start today. So this is a wonderful thing because it's like an accordion, it can squish down to whatever you have to offer and
0:40:34 - 0:40:55it can expand to meet anything God can make you. It's beautiful. OK? So if you're going with content that already exists, what are we talking about? Well, first and foremost, scripture, scripture is wonderful as you read the scriptures, every sentence pause and ask yourself, why does this matter? What
0:40:55 - 0:41:17question does this answer? What need does this fulfill? What instructions does this provide to? What end? Why, why is this in here? Ask yourself, what do people think about this? And is that really what it says? How could I help people to get more out of this if they're already familiar with it or who's
0:41:16 - 0:41:37out there? That's never heard of this? Obscure Psalm or Proverb? That absolutely addresses their modern situation. And they have no idea. It's right here in, in 25 words and they have no idea. And you're going to take copious notes and this is, I highly encourage you to develop your own electronic system
0:41:36 - 0:41:56for organizing this. I could tell you a really simple way is if you and there are a million variations of this depending on what technology you're using. OK. But I can tell you if you have a Mac, you should definitely download this, this program called pages, which is made by Apple. It's free if you
0:41:56 - 0:42:21have a Mac. Um and it's, it's like a Microsoft Word variation. I happen to like it a lot more than word. But getting to my 0.1 thing this has that's better than word is you can create a table of contents very easily and then show you you can, you can specify what level of heading style is shown on that
0:42:21 - 0:42:49. And you can then um keep a running document where you use headings to describe the topic that the note's following that heading and uh are on and so very easily, you can create a searchable um document that contains all your notes across a variety of topics. There are a million other ways to do this
0:42:49 - 0:43:09. This is just one idea that's very easy. And so, um, if you get hung up on that or you want to talk about it more, you can send me an email or just ask for a follow up, my email is up or thought at gmail for those that have managed to avoid it being posted everywhere. Um So, so when you have something
0:43:08 - 0:43:29like that, then when you open up that document and you're saying, hm, what have I ever written about? Um about sheep? You can do a, a uh a search for the word sheep or you can scan through your topic headings and look for something that might be related. And um it's very quick to do in pages because
0:43:29 - 0:43:45if you click the topic heading, it automatically navigates you down from there to the document, the part of the document. But you can also with a hot key. If you hold command and hit up, you can instantly go to that table of contents again, which is something you can't do in word for some reason I have
0:43:45 - 0:44:09not figured out. Um So, so anyway, you learn tricks to be much more efficient in this. So you can, you can squeeze much more value out of your limited time and resources. Um All right, and you could, you could make a similar index into the work of other people, like you can make your own scripture. Index
0:44:08 - 0:44:26that where you're answering questions, right? And you just put scripture after scripture after scripture and now you don't have to look them up again. So if you search the scriptures on some question, you should absolutely write up what you find and then you don't have to repeat that ever again. Uh You
0:44:26 - 0:44:42could do the same thing with quotes from others. If you read a book and something strikes you as profound or you see something written in a way where you say, you know, this makes sense and I could never write it so clearly, then type up the quote. If you have a PDF, then copy, pasted it into your document
0:44:41 - 0:45:09. So um some people like myself have given permission that you don't need to cite them. Um Sometimes there's massive benefit to citing people beyond avoiding legal trouble. And that um and that comes in the form of pointing them higher. So giving people a way that they can get back to the source opens
0:45:08 - 0:45:29to them all the value that you originally experienced that maybe initially they were not able to find or process. And this gets back to that scripture in Luke where the Lord says I'm sending you out before my face and he explains that what they're doing is bringing people closer to him. And so everything
0:45:28 - 0:45:52just points up in this network of truth and that's good. You can share links to videos, you can share links to books it's just, you can hit this from any level of involvement. It doesn't have to be some consuming thing. Although if you start out with the easier things, like just posting links uh in quotes
0:45:52 - 0:46:13, you're probably going to quickly find that the benefit of doing more outweighs whatever kept you from doing it in the first place. All right, in conclusion, I want to just touch on a few things that I expect at least some people to counter with. The the most important one would be someone who says
0:46:13 - 0:46:32or feels like they don't want to do this because they know that they still have changes to make in their lives to align themselves with Jesus as far as they understand Him to be. They know that they currently don't do things that they should and currently do things they should not do. And this makes
0:46:32 - 0:46:52them feel like uh they have no business doing what I'm describing in this video. My answer to you is very simple, make the changes. So that's not no longer true. Free yourself from these chains that have been made very plain to you. God has already giving you the tools to cut them. The only thing at
0:46:52 - 0:47:10the end of the day that's stopping you is your own choice. If you'd like some assistance with this, I highly encourage you to read or reread a book. I ca I wrote called Repentance Making Straight The Way of the Lord. You can find a, a free PDF copy of this on my blog at upward thought.blogspot.com. You
0:47:09 - 0:47:29can also find an audio version of this uh professionally recorded for free here on a playlist called Repentance. You can also buy a print cost version on Amazon and I'm sorry for those of you who have heard that blurb a million times. Uh Every time I think it's enough, someone says, where can I find
0:47:29 - 0:47:48that book you mentioned? Um I wish that there. Well, I can't say, I wish there were more I could say about this because you'll find it in that book. But other than that, I don't have a ton more to say on it because there are no tricks. If you want to come up to God, come up towards him, the only way
0:47:47 - 0:48:08is to turn towards him and start walking. And so if there are things you know that, that you need to change, then that's what you should work on. Ok, let's move on. What about this, uh this counter with people who say or think, well, there's nothing special about me. What business do I have doing? These
0:48:08 - 0:48:32sorts of things? Well, I commend you for your honesty and you're right. In fact, there's nothing special about any of us except that part of us that we've received from God. He is the only special stuff. And to the extent that anything about us is good in any way, it's just because he gave it to us or
0:48:32 - 0:48:54we were willing to receive it from Him. And so what you said is honest and true, but it's also meaningless. You see your understanding that you are nothing without God is an asset. It's not a liability. It's actually what qualifies you for this work. Because if you thought you were special in any way
0:48:53 - 0:49:18, you would not be able to help others see and connect to God because you have to be a channel for flowing His goodness and not think that you are the goodness because you will just get in the way of what is better than you because He is better than all of us. My question for you is simple given that
0:49:18 - 0:49:43you are nothing special, just like all of us. Do you have anything of value? Of course, you do. I don't care who you are. Your entire life is chock full packed with valuable things that God has given you. So my question then is, are you saying that you can't find someone somewhere who can't benefit from
0:49:43 - 0:50:04something that you already have? I'm not sure I've ever met anyone for whom? That's true. And I've been to many places in the world and talked to many tens of thousands of people across all sorts of slices of life. Uh If you know nothing about me, I, I don't want to give the impression that what I meant
0:50:03 - 0:50:26there is that I'm some sort of evangelizing preacher with a private jet and I just travel the world. Uh I, I work for a living. I have kids. I, I do a lot of stuff. Um, ok, what if your, your complaint is? But I have no talent. I know God has taught me a lot of things, but I've just been an obstacle
0:50:26 - 0:50:49to try to teach that or share that with other people. Um Here's the thing, you just worry about what God has given you in terms of value and what God has given you in terms of capacity. Don't bother with what lies beyond that. Now, you should absolutely hunger and thirst after him and seek for more and
0:50:49 - 0:51:10all that jazz. That's not what I'm saying. But when it comes to you flowing these things out to other people, no one's asking you to do more than you can do. The question is what can you do and focus on that list and if you want to revisit the conversation, once that whole list is full of stuff you're
0:51:10 - 0:51:32already doing, we can do that. But this is no excuse not to start. Finally, a lot of people will say they have no time. This is one I'm a little sensitive to because um i it's been a very long time since I met anyone that has less time than me. And I don't know anyone that does anything close to what
0:51:32 - 0:51:55I do. So either in the regard of what I'm talking about in this video or other things in life. And so given that I think this is a really weak excuse. However, so, so if you want to disabuse yourself of this, just ask yourself, do you know anyone that has less time than you yet does more than you in
0:51:55 - 0:52:14the things described in this video? Because if they do, then your problem isn't that you don't have enough time, it's that you have too little desire and we already talked about this one. So don't use what you see as a lack of time as an excuse for a lack of love because that's your real problem is a
0:52:14 - 0:52:35lack of love for other people, which means that you also don't love God, which means that you also haven't been honest about how much He loves you in ways that he's already shown you. So I highly encourage you to fix that because that will be a cause of great, great despair when you reach a point in
0:52:35 - 0:53:00life or after where you can no longer so easily, deny that. But on a less um I don't know, extreme perspective. Here's a question for you. Forget about the time that you don't have. How are you using the time you do have? So you might make a list if I asked you what things are totally non negotiable
0:52:59 - 0:53:19as far as how you use your time, you're gonna throw some stuff down on the list. Uh Who cares what's on it. We could say like we could argue about the value of, of work or this or that or whatever, whatever your non negotiables are, even before we discuss, if you're doing those things as efficiently
0:53:18 - 0:00:00as you could, which it's almost surely the case that you're not. Let's just pretend you are what's left, what's left, how much do you have per day? And how much do you have per week? And how much do you have per month or per year? So let's start per year if you planned out an entire year in advance.
0:00:00 - 0:54:03Are you honestly telling me you couldn't chunk out one day where you spent eight hours straight doing what I'm describing in this video. I I don't know anybody who couldn't do that. I've never met anyone but maybe you're the exception. So let me know. So I can fix myself if I'm wrong. Odds are you could
0:54:03 - 0:54:25probably chunk out more days than one just doing that. We could stop the conversation there. If everyone in the world who could do that did that this world would be so much closer to paradise than it is that it's hard to describe. Now, let's go down to the monthly level. So on a regular basis, people
0:54:24 - 0:54:53find time to carve out discretionary events regularly on a monthly basis. So can you not do that for this? We could do the same thing weekly, we could do the same thing daily and every time, we lower the scope of the time frame. There will be more and more people who have less and less to give. But the
0:54:53 - 0:55:15big picture is what matters here. So don't excuse yourself by making this more complicated or difficult than it is. It's a very simple idea. So uh and then after that, and I won't go into detail about this. But then you could start asking the question, how, what can you do to get more time? So that whole
0:55:15 - 0:55:37first analysis we did based on the time you already have. But what can you change about the non negotiables to get yourself more time? Whether that's now or a couple of years into the future or many years into the future even, or maybe through the things you do or don't do with your kids and what you
0:55:37 - 0:55:56enable for them at a later date. Anyway, we could get bogged down in details here, but that's all the content I have to share on this idea for now. I really hope you take this seriously and you go over this video maybe a couple of times and make the changes that the Lord suggests to you as you're watching
