The gospel of Jesus Christ part three. This is a multipart series and I highly encourage you to watch parts one and two before this one and to continue watching the others. In this presentation, we're going to be talking about what it means to be born again. And we will uh define the distinction between
the light of Christ, the Holy Ghost and the gift of the Holy Ghost. These are incredibly important ideas. And so I hope you find this valuable. Uh This information is based in part on uh topics discussed in two books. See this Jesus and the Glory of God is intelligence. You can get those on amazon.com
for print cost, you can get them for free uh in a PDF at upward dot dot blogspot.com highly encourage you to read those. We'll start with this passage from Moses chapter six says, therefore, it is given to abide in you the record of heaven, the comforter, the peaceable things of immortal glory, the truth
of all things that which quicken eth all things which maketh alive all things that, which knoweth all things and hath all power according to wisdom, mercy, truth, justice, and judgment. And now behold, I say unto you, this is the plan of salvation unto all men through the blood of mine, only begotten
who shall come in the meridian of time. These two verses are incredibly pregnant with meaning. Uh We won't tease this all apart just yet. But this serves as a great introduction to this talk. Uh So this phrase to abide in you is important because uh this comforter, the record of heaven, it dwells inside
of you. It conveys um glory, the truth of all things. It quicken all things. We'll talk about what that word means. It maketh alive all things, it knoweth all things and it hath all power. And this is the plan of salvation comes through the blood of Jesus Christ. When we finish this presentation, this
passage will make a lot more sense. OK. Let's start though, by defining the word quickened to quicken is to make alive or to actuate so quickened means actuated by and uh we can understand this better by thinking about birth and conception. In one account of the creation of man. It says the gods formed
man from the dust of the ground and took his spirit. That is the man's spirit and put it into him and breathed into his nostrils, the breath of life and man became a living soul. It's from Abraham 57. So what we read here is that it wasn't just a combination of body and spirit that made man alive. It
was the, the third necessary component was this quote unquote breath of life, breathed into his nostrils. And my point here is that a person's spirit does not quicken a, a physical body. God's light does. Ok. So just because you've been born, um, doesn't necessarily mean that your spirit is quickened
, right? So, remember the definition of quickened to make alive or actuated by. So, um, it's God's light that makes you alive, not your spirit makes your body alive. Uh It's God's light, it's not your spirit, your spirit is there, but it's not necessarily uh plugged in, so to speak, right? So, um there
is a process though by which that spirit becomes quickened. And I guess uh an analogy of this might be for a pregnant woman, there's a time where the baby starts kicking and she can feel the movement of the baby. It's always an exciting time. And um that doesn't happen right away, right? It, it happens
at some point. And, and historically, actually, they would use this word in the olden days. They would say that the baby was quickened when it starts to kick. And likewise, your spirit can be quickened. When you, you start, you start to be actuated by it before then you're not actuated by your spirit
. You're actuated by the light within your body. But that's it. So we have to understand these distinctions to understand what it means to be born again or baptized with fire or receive the gift of the Holy Ghost or any of these ideas, which in most Christians, they either don't pay attention to any
of those things or they just bind them all together and think that they're interchangeable phrases and they're not. So um another passage from the same book in chapter Moses six says, therefore, it is given to abide in you the record of heaven, the comforter, the peaceful things of immortal glory, the
truth of all things that which quicken all things which maketh alive all things that, which knoweth all things and hath all power according to wisdom, mercy, truth, justice and judgment. So when we're talking about this, and you read the record of heaven given to abide in you, the comforter glory maketh
alive all things knoweth all things hath all power. And I, if I were to ask you, excuse me, if I were to ask you, what, which spirit are we talking about? Your Spirit or God's spirit, I think almost everyone would say God's spirit because you don't have the record of heaven. You aren't the comforter
. You don't have immortal glory. You don't know the truth of all things. You don't quick in all things, you don't make a lie of all things. You don't know all things, you don't have all power according to wisdom, mercy, true justice and judgment, right? Well, that's correct. That's talking about the
spirit of God. But here's the important part, the question is what connects you to that. So remember in the previous presentation, we were looking at light and how your body can possess light and your spirit can possess light. But there's an important distinction between these and, and that is what is
the source of the light? And how does it connect? Well, it turns out this is all described very clearly in scripture. But again, we just kind of mash it all together and treat it uh without distinction. And, and just roughly, well, in the same passage, if we continue reading it talks about Adam and how
Adam believed the Lord and he was baptized and he was uh born of the spirit. So let's read about what happens there and how it describes this verse 65 it says, and thus, he, Adam was baptized and the spirit of God descended upon him. So whose spirit, God's spirit? But what was the effect on him? And
thus, he was born of the spirit and became quickened in the inner man. That's the inner man, it's his spirit. So in this verse, this is Moses 665 we were given very clearly what the relationship between these two spirits is the spirit of God, which is everywhere. All the time descended on Adam and he
was born of the spirit of God and became quickened in the inner man. When you were born of the spirit, you are quickened in the inner man in other words, your spirit within you activates as this channel between you and the spirit of God. And the spirit of God is the record of heaven. It's the comforter
. It's peaceful things of immortal glory. It's truth of all things. It's that which quicken all things. It's that, which maketh a lie of all things. It's that, which knoweth all things and it's that which has all power according to wisdom, mercy, truth justice and judgment. It is what God knows. It is
who he is and it is why he is that way. And it's given to quote, abide in you if you are born of the spirit. So this is why these topics are so important because it's kind of everything, it's everything in the Gospel. Um And let me just illustrate that point by going back here because I have it written
down here in verse 62 of Moses six. This is the plan of salvation, period, right? Well, it's not period. It says unto all men through the blood of mine only begotten. That is the point. It's a really big deal. It is the mechanism through which the Gospel happens. So I'm not saying you have to explicitly
know these things in order to get any benefit from it, you can kind of bumble through it and get it without understanding what's happening. But that's kind of like winning at darts without knowing what the point of the game is or how to throw the dart, right? You can just be lucky and, and randomly decide
to chuck a dart through the air and make a bull's eye, right? But it's much more likely that you'll be successful at this if you understand what the game is and how to throw a dart. Right? It's the same idea. Ok. Let's keep reading verse 66 and he heard a voice out of heaven saying thou art baptized
with fire and with the Holy ghost pause. So here we have an equivalency between being born of the spirit, being baptized with fire and being baptized with the holy ghost. I said equivalency, but I, I should actually change that co occurrence. Ok. These things all happened at the same time in Adam. And
then it says this is the record of the father and the son from henceforth and forever. What does that mean? The record of the father or the record of heaven? Well, it means the truth of all things. It means all things, the knowledge of all things. Uh This is what God knows, right? This is the mind of
the father and it's how the father and the son are one with each other. It's through access to acquisition, acquisition of an assimilation of all of this light, the same body of light. Ok? So let's tease these apart and I'll hit you with some definitions and then we'll go into more scriptures. So the
light of Christ, this is the portion of light given to every man in the flesh. If you go back to the previous presentations, you'll see several scriptures that say that God's light is given to every man. The light of Christ is the portion of light given to every man in the flesh. The holy ghost is the
mind of God. It's all light. It's everything God has. These two things are different. The light is the light, but the quantity of light and how it is received is different between the Holy ghost and the light of Christ. So what's the gift of the Holy Ghost? Some people use all of these things interchangeably
. But what's the difference between the holy ghost and the gift of the holy ghost? The gift of the Holy ghost is like making the electrical connection. It's access to the mind of God. It's opening the door to that resource before you receive this. You only have access to the light that you came to this
earth with and the light of Christ. So once you flip the switch now, you have access to everything God knows everything he feels everything he is through that channel, the Holy Ghost. Um It doesn't mean that it's all at once and we'll talk about that. But uh you do have access to it, all of it, then
you have baptism by fire. So what's this? And why is it, why is it described with a different phrase? Why don't we just have one word for all of these things. Well, the three things I've covered so far. Life of Christ, Holy Ghost, give the Holy Ghost. They're different, they're different ideas. That's
why they have different words, different phrases to describe them. Baptism of fire, same deal. What is it? Well, the fire is awareness. So fire is fire and fire is awareness. Um I've covered that in another presentation, but this fire described by baptism by fire is an initial dispensation of awareness
. So you go from just having the light that you came to this earth with and you, you uh in the light of Christ, you go from that to access to the holy ghost, which is the gift of the holy ghost. And in that moment when you, when you turn the light switch on, there's an initial level of awareness that's
additional to what you had before and you're given it all at once. Boom. That so awareness is fire, right? And it is, it's the fire that God dwells in and it's the fires of hell. It's information, all right. And that information that you get. And again, this is just a chunk of it. It's not everything
goes to know by any means, but that chunk of it takes you from where you are, which is basically where most people are in the beginning, um where you are ruled by the natural man and your carnal desires and you have desires to do things that are contrary to God's commandments as far as you know them
. That's the natural state of a person. You go from that point to the point where with this initial chunk of awareness of information, that stuff before that you desired, that was actually evil. You no longer desire it because you see that it's not desirable that happens through information. It's information
you receive in an instant. I did a presentation on how Satan is a liar from the beginning and what that means. And you should watch that. It's not too long, but it's very important. But basically all of of temptation comes down to um a minimization of negative consequence. And um that is what is countered
by this dispensation of information of awareness. So in the scriptures, read when, when this happens, when you're baptized by fire, your heart is changed and you have no more desire to do evil. This is not the same as being sanctified and never desiring anything contrary to God's will ever again. These
are not the same ideas and that it's like every little point in this presentation, you could branch off what the truth is compared to what everyone thinks. And most people are at the most shallow level. And as we dig deeper, there's a subset of people who have dug in that deep, but they're still off
track. And I'm not saying no one believes what I'm teaching here. I suppose someone does somewhere but, uh, I wish they would do more to teach it because I had to dig this stuff out straight from God. And, uh, that's unfortunate that it's not out there already. But anyway, maybe this is a convenient
point to apologize for this presentation because, um, it's one thing to sort of be taught these things by the spirit. And it's another thing to teach these things. It's, uh, it, it requires orders of magnitude more light to be able to deliver these things in a way that makes sense. And I pray that the
spirit conveys whatever you need to know whether it's overlaps with what I'm teaching here, it's something completely different or whatever the case may be. Uh because this is hard and I've worked on this presentation for months now, actually, believe it or not. And this is sort of the best I can get
it to. So this is where it's gonna come out. I hope that it helps you and uh that you are forgiving of any weaknesses that I have in trying to teach this content because it's very important. But this is this is sort of the best that I can do. OK, back to the content. So, um yeah, so when your heart's
changed, that is compared to the moment before, it doesn't mean that you are like God and your desires are perfectly aligned with his et cetera, it just means that your level of awareness and when we this isn't the point of this talk, but I'll just throw it out there. This is very different than getting
to the point where you are sanctified or you have overcome all things, which means that you have sufficient information to know the cause and effect of all things pertaining to this mortal sphere. And therefore, Satan cannot tempt you here to do anything contrary to God's will at that level of awareness
because you know those things, you know all things here. That's the goal. And that's the point of where the gospel takes you. But this is just the initial step. This is the gate. OK. So in physical birth that, well, let's use that as a segue, this is the gate. So the process now is is for you to submit
to the spirit, which is God's spirit in you or your spirit actuated by God's spirit or your spirit, having access to all the light that God has. So in physical birth, you're born of water, spirit and blood. So you're in water, in the womb, you have a spirit from God and you have a physical body that
has blood in it, right? So in spiritual rebirth, you're born in water through baptism, spirit, through the quickening of your spirit and blood through the blood of Christ. Jesus describes this when he's talking to Nicodemus in the book of John and Nicodemus is just completely confused. He has no idea
what Jesus is talking about. But this is it, right? So let's, let's dive into how you're born in water, spirit and blood in spiritual rebirth, rebirth. Um So water is, is baptism. So you're baptized in water, you're submerged in water and you're taken out from water. Uh You're born by the spirit through
the quickening of your spirit. And we talked about what that means. And then there's this other process which is being born in the blood of Christ. So um we go back to Moses six. This is verse 59 that by reason of transgression, cometh the fall which fall bringeth death and inasmuch as you were born
into the world by water and blood and the spirit which I have made and so become of dust, a living soul. Even so you must be born again into the kingdom of heaven. So a pause there. The inheritance of earth, birth is death, its sin and death. The inheritance of spiritual rebirth is the kingdom of God
. So continuing the kingdom of heaven, of water and of the spirit and be cleansed by blood. Even the blood of mine only begotten that ye might be sanctified from all sin and enjoy the words of eternal life in this world and eternal life in the world to come, even immortal glory for by the water. Ye keep
the commandment by the spirit. You are justified and by the blood, ye are sanctified. Ok? This lays it all out. So you have the water, which is the water of baptism by which you keep the commandment. So that is the commandment to be baptized. But it's also all the other commandments you might know of
at that point. But because awareness progresses and um your knowledge of the truth will increase. Those aren't the only commandments. Those are just the ones you know about at that moment. So when you get baptized, you give God a blank check that says, I am obeying everything I know right now. And I
realize that you are going to teach me way more. And I also agree to obey that. When the time comes, then you have spirit, which we've talked about. But then there's this part that's new on this slide, which is to be cleansed by the blood, even the blood of mine only begotten. What's the point of that
, that you might be sanctified from all sin? So the blood cleanses you in two ways. One, you're forgiven of past sin, which is great. The other is this process of sanctification. Now, in, in the next part of the series, we'll dive deep into the difference between justification, which is being forgiven
of past sin and sanctification, which is to be made holy. It's that to learn more from God and implement that as well. And uh that's that sanctification, we'll get into that later, but that this is the process of spiritual rebirth. It's these three things. And I'll go ahead and make the point since it's
in the verse here that we are to enjoy the benefits of this process, both in this world and in the world to come. Any religion that can only promise you things in the world to come is dangerous at best, right? So if, if I say I'll sell you this awesome car and you have to give me all your money right
now, but you won't get the car right now. You'll get it after you die. That's, that's a dangerous transaction, right? Because what reason do you have to believe that that is ever going to come to you? I could be lying through my teeth right now. God doesn't lie, but he also doesn't expect us to just
believe that things will happen because some person says that they will or some book says that they will. It turns out that God is mighty to save and there's no little fine print asterisk that says as long as we're talking about in the life to come, he can save you here and now as well. And to the extent
that you live the Gospel in this life, you receive the benefits of the gospel in this life. So a a religion that's insufficient to save you in this life is also insufficient to save you after this life. And if you believe that a religion is going to save you later, but can't save you right now, then
you should, you should look into that. God is mighty to save here and hereafter. And if you don't have the blessings of the gospel, here you are on the wrong track, you're being sold a false bill of goods, you're being lied to by people who are likewise imagining that they've inherited the life to come
. When they have zero evidence of it in this present life. Moving on in John four, we read the hour cometh And now is when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth for the Father seeketh such to worship Him. Do you remember when Jesus said this? And you just kind of glazed
over what it said? So if I were to ask you, what does it mean to worship the Father in spirit and in truth, what does that mean? You probably just stare at me with this blank stare and you might feel this way right now too and, and just hope that I shut up and leave you alone, right? Because we don't
like when our, when our lack of knowledge is revealed to us, most people don't, at least because we're prideful and we like to pretend that we have everything there is to have already when that's simply not the case. Well, Jesus said, God is a spirit and they that worship Him must not, should not, can
, must worship Him in spirit and in truth. So you're necessarily doing something else if you're only worshiping him in spirit or only worshiping him in truth. What does this mean? Well, in spirit means in spirit, that one's pretty easy. So here in this picture, on the left side, I've got this chalky
outline and that's meant to be your spirit. And then on the right, I have this red solid, that's your body. So in spirit is in spirit and in truth is in how you act, feel desire, et cetera in your body. So worshiping the father in spirit and in truth means to reconcile your whole being to your sincere
um current understanding of who he is and how he is and what he knows and what he does, et cetera. That's what it means to worship the father in spirit and in truth, to reconcile your whole self to him. So now we're gonna read uh a pair of passages about being born of God. So in alm of 514, we read and
now behold, I ask of you my brethren of the church. Have you spiritually been born of God? Have ye received his image in your countenances? Have you experienced this mighty change in your hearts? We talked about what the change in your heart means, right? That initial dispensation of information of light
and truth. What about receiving his image in your countenance? Well, if you are born to parents, then you're going to have some physical features that resemble theirs right? Now, this is a little different because you don't control how much you look like your parents, but you do control how much you
look like God in the sense of what your motivations are, what your knowledge is, et cetera, right? How your behavior is and being born of God requires you to reconcile yourself completely to whatever, as far as you understand God, to be sincerely, right? And if you hold back something, then this event
will not happen. So once again, we find that trust in God is central to living the gospel of Jesus Christ. And if you don't have trust in God, you won't get very far. And the extent to which you do trust Him will control how what portion of the blessings God has that you will receive. In first John three
, we read whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin for his seed, remain in Him and he cannot sin because He is born of God. In this, the Children of God are manifest and the Children of the devil, whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. There's a lot
in these two verses, but we'll try to keep it brief. There's a lot of confusion about what this means. This is another one where we just kind of gloss over and hope no one asks us any questions, right? Like we're reading this in scripture study with our kids and we just cross our fingers behind our back
and hope that our kids don't ask us what that means to not commit sin because we're born of God. Well, it's actually not that difficult, right? It's, it's a hard truth to live, but it's not that difficult to understand. If you're born of God, you've reconciled yourself completely to your understanding
of God. And therefore you do not sin, you do not act in a way that is contrary to how you understand God to be. And as long as you do that his seed remains in you and you can't sin because you're born of God, you actually trust him enough to do what he says. Now, this doesn't mean that you're perfect
because He's gonna teach you more about himself and in that you will have to change. But for the moment, you are perfect in Christ because you have decided that whatever He tells you you're going to do and he hasn't revealed anything to you yet. That shows that you're not as serious as you thought you
were about that commitment. And it says that in this, the Children of God are manifest in the Children of the devil, whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. Hey, guess what if there is any piece of your life that doesn't reconcile to your best understanding
of God? You are by definition, a child of the devil and you're going to hell when you die, I'm not treating this lightly. I'm just telling you how it is the scriptures cover to cover, testify of this fact. It's not an opinion. This isn't an optional thing. This isn't something that only the spiritually
elite do. It is the gospel. It is the way it is. The only way we actually have to do what God tells us. Ok. This is a long one and I don't have a chapter on here. We just keep going. It's Mosiah 27. It's two slides worth, but I'm gonna go ahead and read it because it's important. Oh, this is actually
, this is John, this is Mosa. OK? Sorry about that. Let's read it from John chapter three. Jesus answered and said unto him verily verily, I say unto thee except a morn man. Be born again. He cannot see the Kingdom of God, Nicodemus saith unto him. How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the
second time into his mother's womb and be born? Jesus answered verily verily, I say unto thee except a man be born of water and of the spirit. He cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh, is flesh and that which is born of the spirit is spirit marvel. Not that I said unto
thee, ye must be born again, the wind blowe where it list and thou hears the sound thereof but canst not tell whence it cometh and whither it goeth So is every one that is born of the spirit? I'll pause there. So, um, do you know what? So I think the first few verses I read makes sense to you now, I
hope. But what about this one? The wind blows where it listed and thou hears the sound thereof but canst not tell whence it cometh and whether it whither it goeth. So is everyone that is born of the spirit? Do you understand what that means? When you activate this connection to God within you, through
being born of the spirit, you will be taught all things through that connection and it comes line upon line as your awareness expands because your limits in awareness, limit what God can teach you and how God can teach you. But as you trust Him, you release that, that uh limitation and you expand more
and more on what He can teach you. And this is the way it comes, imagine yourself out in the field. And you see, let's say it's fall and you see all this grain or corn or whatever grows where you live. And what happens when the wind blows, you can see it peeling across the field, right? And it has um
there are a lot of uh there's a lot of variance in how it affects the wheat or the corn or whatever it's blowing on. You see shapes, right? Where the wind is more intense in some places less intense than others. And not blowing at all in others. This is how the spirit works on you and it works on your
mind and your heart and it teaches you things and these things come out of nowhere. It's, it's just, it happens and you'll be driving along and all of a sudden, God will teach you this, this crazy mystery that you've been praying about for 10 years or he'll reveal to you what's gonna happen next week
or he'll show you that um a certain situation in your life isn't how you thought it was. It just happens and, and that's the way this works. And that's the blessing of being born of the spirit. It's like God is sitting beside you at all times and in all places like a wise father and saying, you see that
. What do you think of that? Well, do you know that this is the way it really works and et cetera and you know, maybe he'll use that language and maybe not, but you just get these ideas and impressions popping into your head all the time and the more you listen to them and the more you live according
to them, the more you'll get and it becomes uh just a constant um a constant stream like a spring bubbling up to eternal life is what the scriptures say. Ok, continue to quote, I'm going to jump to verse 16 again. This is in John chapter three for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten
son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life for, for God sent not His son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. And I don't know why I have the citation there. But the next few verses are also from John chapter three. He
that believeth on him is not condemned but he that believeth not, is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Now, the name of Jesus is an important phrase that's widely misunderstood. I'll do a presentation on that later. Um But for now realize that
this verse is talking about how the light is available to everyone and not everyone embraces it. So I'm gonna continue reading and this is the condemnation that light has come into the world. And men love darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil for everyone that doeth evil, hate the
light, neither cometh to the light lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light that his deeds may be made manifest that they are wrought in God. This is one of my favorite passages from scripture because it, it's so illustrative of our situation. The light is all around
us in its fullness. But what are we doing about it instead of embracing it and knowing that this is going to rip out the roots of error and limitation from our hearts and replace it with what is good. We run from that and we don't turn into the light. We run from the light and we hide from the light
because we don't want to be shown how, what we love is actually vain, ineffectual and leads to death and misery. We don't actually believe God that everything He offers is better than anything we have. And so we either turn completely from the light and run in the opposite direction or we hate the people
that try to share it with us or we end up hating God because we just can't trust him and we can't test the things that He offers us because if we excuse me, if we did test them, we would find that they were good and that they were better than anything we had before. Ok? Hope you're still with me. We
have a few more slides to go. So now let's jump over to Mosiah 27. So here's the story of a guy who was born again and it's great because he's got some details in this account that can help us figure out how to do the same. If you haven't already. Verse 24 says four said he, I have repented of my sins
and have been redeemed of the Lord behold, I am born of the spirit. So here's a question. If you haven't been born in the spirit. Why? Why is it? Because you haven't repented of your sins. You have not actually submitted completely to God. And there was a slide in here that I took out. I should have
left it in and it talked about repenting of your sins. You will never see this phrase in singular tense in the scriptures. It's always plural. Why? Because you can't repent of one sin. Repentance is not a matter of changing a behavior. It's a matter of changing all of your behavior to submit to God as
fully as you understand Him to be. It's a, it's a problem of trust, not a problem of willpower. People say, oh, I'm addicted to this and I just can't, you know, or I just can't stop yelling at my kids or whatever. It doesn't matter what it is. If you're deviating from your understanding of what God would
do in your place. Your sin is a manifestation of your lack of trust in God. That's all it is. If you really trusted him, you wouldn't do it. And so we waste our time on the hamster wheel of trying to increase our willpower, you know, like summon your your um favorite rocky movie training, montage of
willpower training, right? That's not the way though. The way is to, to get to know God and to receive revelation about how much He loves you and how much more he knows than you do. And that will increase your trust in him. You have to experiment on his word and you will find that your trust in him increases
and that will give you power to overcome all things so repented of all his sins. And the Lord said unto me, Marvel, not that all mankind, y men and women, all nations kindreds tongues and people must be born again. Pause. You see what I mean? This isn't meant for some spiritual elite. Folks like this
is just for Moses coming off the mountain. He can be born again and we all just have to suffer in our state of fallen nature. It's for everybody, everybody continuing the quote. Yeah. Born of God changed from their carnal and fallen state to a state of righteousness, being redeemed of God, becoming his
sons and daughters and thus they become new creatures. And unless they do this, they can in no wise inherit the kingdom of God. This just makes sense. I mean, what is the kingdom of God? It's his will and knowledge flowing out to everyone else. I say unto you, unless this be the case, they must be cast
off. And this I know because I was like to be cast off. He's saying, hey, I was going through the pains of hell. So trust me on this, it's not what you want and it is what you'll get unless you do these things. Nevertheless, after wading through much tribulation, repenting nigh unto death, the Lord and
mercy hath seen fit to snatch me out of an everlasting burning. See that burning. And I am born of God. My soul hath been redeemed from the gall of bitterness and bonds of iniquity. I was in the darkest abyss. But now I behold the marvelous light of God. My soul was racked with eternal torment, but I
am snatched and my soul is pained no more. Here's another story from another person who went through it and it came to pass that after Aaron had expounded these things unto him. So this Aaron guy was a preacher. He's preaching to this king. The king said, what shall I do that? I may have this eternal
life of which thou hast spoken. Yeah. What shall I do? That I may be born of God, having this wicked spirit rooted out of my breast and receive his spirit that I may be filled with joy that I may not be cast off at the last day. Behold said he, I will give up all that I possess. Yeah, I will forsake
my kingdom that I receive this great joy. OK? Now we're about to read how this, this king was baptized by fire. But what has he described his situation as so far? So here's this king, he's listening to this random preacher. He's a king, right? But he's listening to this guy who's telling him, hey, you're
going to go to hell if you don't change your life. And by the way, there's some really um amazing joy that's awaiting you. If you, if you make these changes in your life and you submit to God and you learn more about him and do what, what he teaches you. And instead of ordering this guy killed or at
least out of his presence, he completely humbles himself. And he says, hey, I believe you. And I want this and in fact, I want it so badly that I'll give up anything that I have to have it. I'll forsake my whole kingdom. So that's important because here we have belief, the willingness, et cetera. Uh
This is a degree of contrition that most people never get to. And that's with being way less than kings, right? Continuing the quote. But Aaron said unto Him, if thou desires this thing, if thou wilt bow down before God, and that really is the problem, isn't it that we're not willing to bow down before
God? Yeah, if thou wilt repent of all thy sins and will bow down before God and call on his name and faith believing that ye shall receive, then shalt thou receive the hope which thou desires. So it's pretty simple, repent of all your sins and bow down before God submit completely to him and do everything
he says, call on his name and faith believe that you shall receive and then you've got it. So if you're in the position where you haven't been born of God. Then this is the path and this is also the identification of whatever it is that you lack that you haven't done yet. In first John five, we have
more information on this topic. Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God. Pause, this could be its own presentation, what it actually means to believe in God. But you do not believe that Jesus is the Christ. If you have not submitted to Him completely, if you still willingly sin, you
don't actually believe that Jesus is the Christ because if you did, you would find yourself without desire to sin because you know that God knows more than you do. He loves you more than you love yourself. And between those two things, there's only one option and that's to do whatever He says. Because
if you actually love Him and you actually know who He is and what he did and what he does, then you will trust Him completely and you'll do exactly what he says, continuing the quote and everyone that loveth Him that begat loveth Him also, that is begotten of Him by this. We know that we love the Children
of God when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God that we keep His commandments for His commandments are not grievous for who whatsoever is born of God, overcome the world. And this is the victory that overcome the world, even our faith. Do you get what this is saying? So
when you love God, you also love His Children and you will help them with everything you have to give. But this isn't it. You will also keep all of God's commandments because they won't be grievous. It'll actually be a pleasant thing. When you believe Jesus is the Christ, you see everything he teaches
you is a blessing, not a burden it's given to you to help you reach a point where you're better off than you are right now. And you truly deeply believe that. And when you reach that point of trust in God, you will overcome the world because He will teach you everything that unravels the illusion of
how things work here and you will act the same way. He would if He were in your place. 35 9 20 this is Jesus speaking. He says, ye shall offer for a sacrifice unto me, a broken heart and a contrite spirit and whoso cometh unto me with a broken heart and a contrite spirit. Him will I baptize with fire
and with the Holy ghost. And now you know how those two things are different. And also you understand why you need a broken heart and a contrite spirit. And what that means, it means that you truly trust God who He is, why he's doing what He's doing that He knows more than you do and you will come to
Him in complete submission. And complete obedience. This is an instantaneous event. In Alma 22 we read it came to pass that when Aaron had said these words, the king, remember Aaron was a preacher. The king was listening to him did bow down before the Lord upon his knees. Yeah. Even he did prostrate
himself upon the earth, which is this a big deal for a king? He's doing this in his court and cried mightily saying, o God, Aaron hath told me that there is a God and if there is a God and if thou art God wilt thou make thyself known unto me, you note here, this is not just blind faith. He's saying if
you're real and if you really are who Aaron says you are, then it's OK to challenge God on the things he has said. And the things that are, are, are uh putative truth. He will prove it to you. That's not unbelief belief though is, is being willing to act on it and, and to say, look, if this is true,
what does this mean? And what do I have to change? Continuing the quote? And I will give away all my sins to know thee and that I may be raised from the dead and be saved. At the last day. He sincerely said, I will submit everything and I have already in my heart. You just tell me what to do and I'll
do it. And now when the king had said these words, he was struck as if he were dead. And that was that now, it doesn't mean that you'll be struck as if you were dead. But the point is in the moment that you make this commitment, it will happen. I want to make a quick note here, which is that if your
allegiance is to a man or a church or a woman that will keep you from being born again, every verse we've gone over is about submission to God. Even when there's a preacher who's conveying the message of the need to repent and submit to God, the submission is to God, not the person, it's not to a church
. It's not to anything else in as much as your allegiance is to one of these other things. You are practicing idolatry. You're breaking the commandment. Thou shalt have no other Gods before me and you will not be baptized with fire. Jesus said, thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with
all thy soul and with all thy mind. And that doesn't leave room for anyone or anything else. It's mutually exclusive to submission to anyone or anything else. So if someone's saying that something like in, as much as you submit to me, you're submitting to God or in as much as your uh your allegiances
to this church, your allegiances to God run away in the other direction as fast as you can. Because as long as you believe that you cannot have these blessings that we've discussed in this presentation. God has to be able to commit uh to communicate to you. He can't work through a middle man. That's
not the way it works. And I made a diagram of this and I, I think I've scrambled this enough that uh it might not make any sense to you. But the idea is that on the left side of this before you're born again, you might, you may have been trained to accept what the world teaches you, what your school
teaches you, what your books teach you, what science teaches you, what people teach you as truth. But once you're born again, the white teaches you the light inside you, the holy ghost will teach you all things. And that doesn't mean that you no longer receive information from all these other sources
just means that God has given you a means by which you can learn far beyond what they tell you. And you can also filter out the things that they tell you that are either false or represent a, a level of awareness that's beneath what you've acquired and you have to get to this point to be saved. There
is no other way you have to become a child of God, which means that He teaches you. And that, that light is what teaches you even if it's uh if it's what the light tells you in response to some external stimulus. It's, it's still the light that teaches you. And that's a big distinction. You have to make
that jump. OK? So we're getting into some summary slides here. So being burn again is entering into the gate. It's when you are justified or forgiven of all your past sins. It's when you are baptized by fire and it is the path that you walk in after this point. It's how you become sanctified. So this
is where we'll leave off with this passage. Wherefore do the things which I have told you, I have seen that your Lord and your redeemer should do for, for this cause. Have they been shown unto me that ye might know the gate by which ye should enter for the gate by which ye should enter is repentance
and baptism by water and then cometh the remission of your sins by fire and by the Holy ghost. And then are ye in this straight and narrow path which leads to eternal life? Yeah. Ye have entered in by the gate. Ye have done according to the commandments of the father and the son. And ye have received
the Holy Ghost which witnesses of the father and the son unto the fulfilling of the promise which he hath made that if he entered in by the way, ye should receive and now my beloved brethren, after ye have gotten into this straight and narrow path, I would ask if all is done behold I say unto you nay
for ye have not come thus far, save it were by the word of Christ with unshaken faith in Him, relying wholly upon the merits of Him who is mighty to save wherefore ye must press forward with the said Fastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope and the love of God and of all men, wherefore
if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ and endured to the end. Behold. Thus saith the Father. Ye shall have eternal life. If you submit to God completely, you will be baptized by fire and the Holy Ghost. And after this happens, if you continue to seek everything He can teach you
through that means and you implement it perfectly in your life, you will march straight to eternal life. And at one point, you will have acquired enough information that He will tell you that you have eternal life. I hope you have found this beneficial.
