A while back, I noticed this documentary pop up on a sidebar in YouTube. It's a short and well-done project documenting a particular scream sound that is in more movies than you've probably noticed.

The thumbnail caught my eye because me and a few of my kids had independently noticed this scream in a host of movies, and had pointed it out to each other, even though we did not know the story behind it.

Who would have believed that this sound was in so many movies, or that there was a vast conspiracy involving basically everyone sound professional in the movie industry to make it so? Would you ever believe something like this existed without someone proving it to you? How much proof would you need? Would you need a whole documentary, would just need someone to point it out to you, or would you notice it yourself?

I would be willing to be that very few people have noticed this scream, but that nearly everyone is capable of recognizing it once it is pointed out to them. There are patterns like this everywhere: significant things that should be obvious to everyone but remain hidden to most everyone. Some of them have significant spiritual implications.

However, not everything that is claimed to be a conspiracy is one.

11 For the Lord spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,

12 Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.

13 Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread. (Isaiah 8:12)

A surprising litmus test is how much do you care about the supposed conspiracy relative to its actual effect on the lives of you or those you love relative to the things that have a much more prominent effect? Suckers for conspiracy theories always use them as a distraction from the much more important problems in their lives that they refuse to do much about.

Still, there are many, many processes in play today that very few people seem to see, even though some are in plain sight. Enough of the hidden ones have been extensively uncovered [1] that no one should doubt that they continue to exist.

Both God and the devil continue their work. God works to bring to pass greater joy among all who will receive it, in ways that people struggle to see, even though he does everything he can to make it plain. The devil works to bring to pass greater misery among everyone who lets him, in ways he does all he can to hide, even though it is plain to all who love God.
