Reminder: Talk on Sept 23 in Pinesdale, MT

Thu, August 14, 2025

Title:

"The work that must be done before Christ returns"

Abstract:

It’s not difficult to find Christians who say that they are anxiously awaiting the Second Coming of Christ. The truth is that it is Christ who is waiting on them, not the other way around. While many speculations exist about events that must precede the return of the Lord, no one has yet detailed what believers must do to precipitate his return or prepare for his arrival. In this talk, the scriptural conditions for the return of Christ will be introduced and a framework provided for the work that lies before believers in order to prepare for his coming.

When:

Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025, 6pm. Doors open at 5:30pm. (Pre-talk cookout, see below)

Where:

1611 Bowman Rd, Pinesdale, 59841 (Where Sunrise Christian meets)

Who is invited:

This talk is open to the public. The content will not depend on prior understanding, so people who have never watched, listened to, or read any of my content will not be lost. Mormon scriptures will be quoted from an assumption of belief in them.

Children: If your children are too young to run around, or mature enough to sit without making a disturbance, they are welcome. Babysitting will not be provided.

Teens: Teenagers are highly encouraged to attend.

Pre-talk cookout:

To help travelers and to facilitate connections, from noon until about 5, we will have a cookout at Forrest Jessop's house (459 Bear Creek Rd. Victor, MT 59875). Hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, fruit, drinks, etc. will be provided, but please RSVP with a headcount so that we can get enough food.

Cost:

Both events are free. Anyone wishing to help can donate here.

Travel notes:

This is obviously a very important topic, so I hope that factors into the decision process on whether to attend. At the same time, I hope no one travels from very far away for fear of missing out on the content, which will be recorded. Beyond the content of this talk, I have the objective of providing opportunities for people to meet others and find new like-minded friends, and that can only be accomplished if people actually attend.

If you are interested in carpooling, please email me and let me know what county/state you are coming from, and I will connect you with others who are interested.

For those flying, MSO is the airport you'll want to fly into. For those driving who might not be aware of Montana's population density (or lack thereof), check out google maps to plan places to fill up your tank and empty your bladder. Those coming up from the south: Idaho Falls is your last good stop for fuel and food until Hamilton.

For those looking to arrange a family vacation, there are a lot of places you can camp, hike, etc. in the area. You can also look into visiting Glacier National Park, which is a few hours to the north and a real gem. I recently learned you have to RSVP to enter the park, so you will want to research before committing.

Beyond the forthcoming details, please let me know if you have any questions via email at upwardthought@gmail.com
